Description
The Chalet is set on a quaint piece of Door County's shoreline. Just steps from the waters of Sturgeon Bay, its location is very private, yet convenient to the city. You will enjoy the early morning sunshine from the east and the evenings colors lighting up the surrounding bay. Whether you are searching for a kick back get-away or into exploring all the nearby outdoor activities... We think you're going to love the charm of our year-round shore-side retreat and its truly unique hidden setting. The space The Chalet is a cozy 3 bedroom-2 bath home. With its distinctive structure, the cathedral ceilings present a spacious open concept living/dining room area plus a newly remodeled kitchen with upgraded appliances. *Captains Quarters- The upstairs loft including the balcony provide the master with a king bed and en suite bathroom. The balcony adds extra sleeping with a futon. On the main floor there are 2 bedrooms & a shared full bath~ *Queens Stateroom-Has a bed fit for a Queen. Also a Pack & Play and an air mattress are in the closet of this bedroom. *The Crews Quarters- Supplied with 4 twin beds (1-Bunk Bed & 1-Trundle Bed), to accommodate added guests. As well as a toddler rail for one of the twin-beds. The full-size front loading laundry facilities are tucked in the closet of this room. *There's a Queen Sleeper sofa located in the shared living room on the main floor. Guest access Guests will have full use of the property. We've tried to supply you with lots of basic household staples and some additional convenient amenities. There are some fun extras at the Chalet we encouraged our guests to enjoy during their stay; a full Pier, a 15-foot rowboat & 3-kayaks (including life jackets), a propane fire table on the deck, fishing gear, 4-adult bicycles (please bring helmets), a shoreside wood fire pit, family/adult board & lawn games, beach chairs and an extra-large charcoal grill. Our winter guests can also make use of the 3 sets of snowshoes in the nature paths across the street, ice-fishing right off the waters of the Chalet and take the toboggans sledding at our local sled hills. In addition to these on property extras we want our guests to know the Chalet's location is pretty special too. We are kitty corner from some of the Crossroads public hiking trails (these are also dog-friendly), and we are less than 2 miles from the US Coast Guard Station and the North Pierhead Lighthouse. We hope you get to enjoy both of these cool neighboring settings. Other things to note The Chalet was built by my father in law, who spent his life working as a shipbuilder in Sturgeon Bay. Most of the structure is built with wood from ships dating back to the building of mine-sweepers after World War II. His vision was to create a home that resembled the basic hull structure of a ship. We've worked hard to update the home without losing its true character & hope you enjoy some of the vintage nautical pieces throughout the Chalet.
