A few small areas are off-limits, including the housekeeping closet, firewood box, attic, and crawlspace, which are reserved for owner and maintenance use. We offer easy self check-in with keyless entry for a smooth arrival. There is ample parking for up to four vehicles in the driveway, and 4WD is not required to access the property. Other things to note ⚠️ OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE Trash & Bears Please place all trash inside a trash bag and then place it in the outdoor bear-proof trash can. For the safety of our guests, neighbors, and wildlife, do not leave loose trash or food outside. To be considerate of our cleaners, please do not throw loose trash directly into the cans — they must remove it by hand. If loose trash is found, a $25 fee will be charged as outlined in our house rules. Firewood We sell firewood on-site for $15 per bundle (honor system). Firewood is also available at local gas stations, Ingles, and Food Lion. Pets For guests traveling with pets, we provide a pet supply box stored in the first-floor primary bedroom closet. It includes dog towels, paw-wipe towels, food & water bowls, and dog waste bags. Please be sure to review our full pet policy in the house rules or guidebook before your stay. Security Cameras For your safety, the home has a front door doorbell camera and a front security light camera only. There are no cameras inside the home or in any private areas. Transportation & Rideshare Due to our location, Uber and Lyft are rarely available for pickups from the house (though they may drop you off here). We recommend using AVL Ride, a reliable local taxi service that regularly services this area. Grocery & Food Delivery Whole Foods delivers to this address, and Instacart is available from Publix, Food Lion, and several local restaurants. Wildlife Awareness Bears and other wildlife are common in our neighborhood. They are beautiful to see — but not cuddly! Please never leave food, coolers, or trash outside unless secured in the bear-proof container. Failure to do so will almost certainly result in a mess. For this reason, we strongly recommend purchasing Airbnb trip insurance, which is designed to protect guests in these situations. If you do need to cancel due to weather or an unexpected event, please let us know as soon as possible. We’re happy to relist the dates, and if we’re able to rebook them at an equal or higher rate, we will gladly refund you in full for the rebooked nights (minus Airbnb’s fees).
