This rental is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, full house with a bedroom play space combo upstairs. The master bedroom contains a queen sized bed and the second bedroom contains a queen bed. The loft contains two queen beds. Our property is situated on a corner lot and its multiple windows provide much natural light and if they are opened furnish the space with a constant cross breeze on all but the stillest days. This home’s modern design pays tribute to the mid century origin of the property with multiple period pieces of furniture and decor from the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s. A bright color palette and geometric accents create a sophisticated but playful atmosphere. Nearly all of the furniture in the unit is time period appropriate and vintage, we hunted all over to find the perfect pieces for our pad, so please forgive the dents, scratches and marks that may mar their perfection, we believe they are worth it to keep them true to their original selves. The master bedroom is equipped with a queen bed, a large closet and a desk with a lamp and mirror to function as a vanity or workspace. This room has excellent views of the ravine as well as ample natural light. The second bedroom is furnished with a queen bed, small closet and dresser with a mirror placed above creating a standing vanity. The side tables, dresser and headboard are all vintage pieces. The upstairs loft is styled as a kids space and is appointed with bright colors and playful décor. It contains two queen beds, some bean bag chairs, a television and a selection of books and toys to keep children entertained and give parents much needed time to relax or prepare meals. The kitchen is fully equipped to meet all your needs, with a 4 burner electric stove and oven, a microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot and kettle. You will also find cutting boards, pots and pans, dining ware and utensils. The kitchen contains a coffee “nook” equipped with a coffee pot capable of full pot brewing or single cup brewing along with an electric kettle and an option of green or black tea, as well as coffee whitener, sugar and sugar alternatives, all available to ensure that you can maintain your favorite morning rituals, even when away from home. The bathroom has been redecorated to bring out the inner child in all of us and is decorated in a palette of pinks and blues, with flamingo accent wall and art chosen to inspire nostalgia and capture the imagination. The updated vanity light provides excellent lighting for all those self care moments that many of us start and end our days with. We have a big driveway and you may park your boat/camper here if needed. Please note that sometimes we need park our car and trailer/camper on site, so make sure to inform us in advance if you need to park more than 2 cars. Guest access The house is complete with a large driveway, and two hour street parking is permitted We are located near the De Veaux neighborhood, with lots of pleasant walks and park access nearby. Please check our guestbook for more details. We are a 5 minute drive to the Falls. You have access to the entire house except for any locked doors (basement) Housekeepers might need to access the basement for linen care during your stay. Please let us know if this is an issue. Please do not allow kids to be unattended. Other things to note While we classify our listing as family-friendly, this is primarily due to the family amenities we provide rather than extensive baby-proofing. The unit is not fully baby-proofed, so supervision is necessary, especially for babies and toddlers. Linens and Towels: We take cleanliness very seriously. After each guest checks out, all sheets, pillowcases, and towels are thoroughly washed and sanitized with bleach. While we do our best to keep all linens spotless, some stains can be stubborn and may not come out even with treatments like bleach, OxiClean, or vinegar. On rare occasions, you might notice faint marks or spots on linens or towels—but please rest assured, they have been fully cleaned and properly sanitized. If you want brand-new linens and towels, feel free to request them for an additional fee. Duvet & duvet covers, blankets and decorative items are washed as needed. Other cleaning related notes: Our housekeepers perform a standard Airbnb turnover cleaning after each guest. A more detailed deep cleaning is done monthly, so you might notice some dust in less visible areas—like under the sofa, behind the stove, or on top of the fridge etc. This approach allows us to keep cleaning fees low for our guests while ensuring fair wages for our housekeeping team. If you require a spotless home for special circumstances, we’re happy to accommodate for a reasonable additional fee. Just let us know your specific needs (e.g., hand-mopping the floor for babies to crawl on), and we’ll do our best to make it happen. We’re also happy to share our cleaning checklist upon request. This is an older house, so please expect some wear and tear in the house. We use plug-in air fresheners throughout the house, which most guests find pleasant. However, we understand that scent preferences vary. If you’re sensitive to fragrances, please let us know in advance—we’ll gladly remove them and air out the space during cleaning. While we’ll do our best, a subtle scent may still remain.
