Casa Senhorinha
CASA SENHORINHA - Beautiful townhouse in the old fishermen's quarter Foz Velha
Description
Casa Senhorinha was as such established in 2021. The house was originally built in 2010 in cooperation with the famous Porto's born and raised architect “Alvaro Siza Vieira”. Pedro, the first owner, was a Portuguese pro Surfer and a family friend of Siza Vieira’s. He wanted to express his love for the ocean and his hometown in this building. He chose the old fishing district Foz Velha. The space Siza Vieira’s way of bringing elegant, sophisticated modern structures in line with the surrounding architecture and elements is unique and can be seen and felt in so many details of the house. Once you are entering the house, you are wandering into a modern but timeless contrast of the world outside. The concrete floor lets classic dimensions become instinct and separates the room into different areas on different levels that are one at the same time. All beautifully held together by a big pine wood cube. As you move upstairs the high ceiling with its arched lines creates a space, where the play of light and shade throughout the day gives you a different impression each time you look up. Upstairs the materials used are softer. The floor is made out of pine wood blanks as they were used on ships back in the day and the white structure in the big room ingeniously reflects the recessed structures from downstairs. In all the rooms you will also move between different stages, levels and areas that are each created to give you a different feeling of the space around you. As the sun sets in the evening over the Atlantic Ocean, the light in the rooms and on the ocean-side terrace will turn into magical colors, letting you experience the beauty of your surroundings. Notes: - The rooftop bedroom doesn't have a full blackout system, meaning there's always a bit of light coming in. - The stairs leading up to the mezzanine bedroom might not be suitable for children and the elderly. Guest access You will have access to the entire house and all its amenities, including all furnishings and utensils. Other things to note - Please note that guests are responsible for their keys.
