Location - ""Leave your troubles outside, in here everything is beautiful"" - Emcee. A favorite with initiated travelers and truly Vermont at its best! Perfectly located in the shire of Weston with grazing cows on one side and the West River on another. Home with en-suite bathrooms, great room with brick fireplace and piano, chinoiserie parlor with hearth stove and built-ins, formal dining area, and a new kitchen with double ovens and pot filler. Grounds feature perennials, apple trees, stone walls, swimming pool, an old barn, and scenic vistas at every turn. Fly-fishing, hiking, skiing, biking trails, theatre, and even Benedictine Monks at Weston Priory are all nearby! Just a short walk to the Weston Theatre Company and the original Vermont Country Store. *Bedroom #7 in the main house is set up as a den for smaller groups, but has rollaway beds and a sofa available for larger groups. Additional housing available nearby.

History – The Apple Knoll was built in 1830 and first used as a sheep farm. It’s a Georgian style timber frame house with views of the West River, shire of Weston, and Mounts Tabor Mansfield and Equinox.  In the year built, Merino wool prices spiked to 50 cents a pound and VT experienced the “Great Torrent”, the worst flooding in a century.  Over the next 30 years VT saw its first railroad, spread of the abolitionist movement, a booming economy first in agriculture then forestry mining and manufacturing, and outbreak of the Civil War. 

Bear Gear - Correction for Air-b-n-b listings. We provide beach towels and beach chairs at every location, umbrellas and carts at most locations, and do not provide "snorkeling gear" at any locations. Sorry for the confusion. Snorkelling gear can be rented or purchased nearby.

Cancellation Protection - Trip-Protection can be added to cover unexpected cancellations and accidental damages. Reservations with Trip-Protection receive a 60% refund when cancellation is made 30 days or more prior to scheduled check-in. Trip-Protection is an optional added cost of 6% of the booking total, and must be elected within 48 hours of booking and no less than 30 days prior to checkin. To add Trip-Protection to your booking just email us a request. To cancel a booking just email adding “cancel my booking"" in the subject, and the reservation number and guest name in the body. Bookings without Trip-Protection are welcome, but nonrefundable.

Support Post Booking - I understand vacation time is precious and I will make sure you get the most out of it. My number is the only contact information you need. My units are at the top attractions on the island. Cars are never required, but if you bring one I will get you private parking near the unit. Check-in any day of the week at any time using your private door-code. No requirement ever at checkout. Free early check-in when possible. Never hidden fees or solicitations. Events - Many of our properties are wonderful locations for gatherings. Gatherings involving third party vendors or visitors outside your occupancy limit ""might"" be permitted, but only with prior authorization. Event fees will apply including location fees of between $1000 and $3000 and guest fees of $19 per person in excess of your occupancy limit."

"Terms - *There is a 50% refund for bookings canceled 60 days before arrival. Bookings canceled less than 60 days before arrival are nonrefundable, but travel insurance is available for purchase on vacation rental bookings. *Events or gatherings involving outside vendors or guests are allowed with prior owner approval and event fees. *At properties containing shared areas, Guest agrees to keep them beautiful, peaceful and clean. *Guest agrees to hold the Property Manager and Owner harmless from any liability for injuries while on vacation."
