Shady Creek… Surrounded by state parks!

Nestled in the country on 6 acres, Shady Creek is located between Sparta and Cookeville, TN & surrounded by state parks! Enjoy Cherry Creek from the back deck or enjoy the sounds of our 2 waterfalls from the front porch. Just take the path to the side of our home and walk down to see the waterfalls for yourself. Enjoy all the wildlife (eagles, deer, foxes, turkeys, armadillos) that wander the property or start up the fire pit where you can relax with friends. No smoking inside & no pets allowed. The space Our home is a two bedroom home. There is also a pull out sofa in the living room. A deck runs along the entire back of the home which overlooks a creek. We also have a fire pit and covered parking area for two but plenty of other places to park as well. All TV's are streaming where you can log into your accounts to enjoy several different apps or download your own! There are many free apps on the TV's that don't require you to sign in. * One thing to know about our location: There is no cell service at the house unless you turn on wifi calling, connect to our wifi and you will be able to make calls and send texts with no problem. To do this, on your phone go to Settings>Phone Settings or Call Settings> Click on Wifi Calling. Guest access Our property is located on six acres and you don't have any neighbors. There is plenty of parking on the property. There is a gate to our property but it will be opened. Self check-in with keypad. There are cows adjacent to the property and there is an electric fence to keep them on their side. Please do not touch the fence. Other things to note There is an abundance of places surrounding us where you can hike, cave, kayak, fish and golf or enjoy a drive-in movie at the Sparta Drive-In on Friday & Saturday nights. We are within close proximity of several state parks (listed below) as well as Center Hill Lake (21 miles), Dale Hollow Lake (47 miles), Percy Priest Lake (80 miles) Lake Chickamauga (76.6 miles), Cordell Hull Lake (51 miles) and Fort Loudon Lake (98 miles). You can also explore Cumberland Caverns which is just a thirty minute drive to McMinnville. OUTDOORS: We are surrounded by state parks! The second Saturday of the month between Oct and March, you can buy breakfast at Cherry Creek Volunteer F.D. just up the road from the house. Simply turn left out of the driveway and drive two miles until you see the Fire Department on your right. Adults $10 and kids 12 and under $5. The building is red and the address is 124 Montgomery Rd. (6-10am) Check out Sparta's very own Calfkiller Brewery, Happy Trails Brewery and Taproom, Northfield Vineyards and The Coffee Collective. Places to eat are Marioochi's Pizzeria on the Square, Brothers Tavern, Big Puckett’s Campground, Rise & Shine, C&H Donuts, Huddle House, Yanni's Grille, Jack's Top BBQ, Miss Miranda's Tea Room (lunch only), Casa Luna (Italian), Frank's, El Tapatio, Meson San Pedro, Jaxito Burrito Company, Kumo Hibachi and Sushi, Panda Garden, Chestnut Oaks Farm Store & Kitchen and Foglight Foodhouse (on the river) to name a few. Sparta also has fast foods such as McDonalds, KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Dominos, Little Caesars, Burger King, Sonic, Arby's, Captain D's, Subway, Hardee's, Dairy Queen and Dunkin's. Sparta has grocery stores like Walmart, Save a Lot and Floyd’s Cash Saver. We also have a Walgreens in town. There is a Dollar General down the road from the house. When pulling out of the driveway, turn left and drive 2 1/2 miles until the road ends. Turn right and you will see the Dollar General on your right. Cookeville has all the chain restaurants plus their own hometown places to eat and breweries. It also has an AMC movie theater and stores such as Kohl's, Old Navy, Belk, TJ Max, Ross, Books A Million, Hobby Lobby, Home Goods, Dick's Sporting Goods, Academy, Outdoor Junction, Ulta, JCPenny's, Harley Davidson, Food Lion, Aldi’s, Food City, Publix, Kroger's, Sam's Club and Walmart.
