This open loft style home features panoramic views of the Big Star Lake Bayou through the large two story picture windows. The Red Door Cottage is a cozy family vacation residence with a private site directly on the bayou of Big Star Lake, which is an all sports lake, offering great fishing, boating and swimming. You will have full access to the private dock for your boat as well as access to 4 standard Kayaks, 1 Tandem Kayak, and a canoe for full family fun! Lifejackets are also provided. The Cottage boasts a gourmet kitchen for those vacationers who love to cook, gorgeous wood cabinets, a dishwasher, and eat in bar seating. Accommodations for 8 guests include the Master bedroom with a luxurious king bed, the loft with additional king bed and twin bed and 3 twin beds on the lower level walkout. For your comfort, we also provide central air and WiFi with streaming. Pets are welcome! Additional fee of $100/pet will apply. 2 pet maximum, please send inquiry for more than 2 pets to secure approval prior to booking. The Red Door Cottage provides the perfect setting for year-round activities or just relaxing and enjoying the seasonal splendor of northern Michigan. The Red Door has it all: water frontage, beautiful views, a fire pit, a gas grill, and a deck overlooking it all for relaxing at day’s end while enjoying spectacular sunsets! Sit back, relax and enjoy your time on Big Star Lake. Nearby attractions include access points to Pere Marquette River, a world renowned trout stream and great for canoeing and kayaking, as well as a Trailhead to the North Country National Scenic Trail. The public boat launch on Big Star Lake is only a 1/4 mile away. The town of Baldwin is approximately 15 minutes away and Ludington is approximately 45 minutes away. NOTE: The bayou frontage is not suitable for swimming but is perfect for docking your boat. However, there are lots of great swimming areas accessible by boat!
