Enjoy paddling (seasonal), docks, fire pit, waterfront, & scenic views steps from your front door. Walk to downtown Saranac Lake for dining, shops, & parks. Take a short drive to Lake Placid, Whiteface Mountain, & Keene and the High Peaks. Enjoy Algonquin Cottage year-round as a relaxing getaway or a launch point for your next High Peaks adventure. The space It's hard to beat Algonquin's location - steps from the water, a few minutes from downtown Saranac Lake, and a short drive to many attractions in the High Peaks. The cottage is well-equipped for your stay with added luxuries for your enjoyment like luxury bedding and towels. A rustic fireplace w/ wood burning stove anchors the living room, and there are decks on the front and side of the cottage. The bathroom, kitchen, and all furnishings were updated in December 2020. The cottage is filled with treasures from our parents and grandparents. We hope you enjoy them. The listing is best for two adults. The lakefront is across from Route 86, and light boat and traffic noise are common. There is a dock, and seating and tables along the shoreline. Boats are available for guest use. There is no lifeguard on duty. Boat or swim at your own risk. The house is at the bottom of a hill and is not accessible. You will have to walk from the parking space down to the cottage. 1 car max in winter months (Dec—March). We do not supply wood for the stove or campfire but there may be some left from previous guests. You can buy wood locally. There is one parking space at the property. Extra vehicles or trailers may be able to be accommodated at our neighboring property, or at street level. Please ask. We charge a $50 pet fee. Please let us know if you plan to travel with your dog. No cats. Guest access You have full access to the cottage, along with shared access to docks and beaches with other cottages. Private decks are for guest use. Other things to note !! THE ICE IS NOT SAFE TO WALK ON. !! Use the waterfront at your own risk. Wear life jackets at all times. !! !!We do not recommend boating or swimming between Columbus Day and Memorial Day. You may not use our boats or water equipment between those dates (from Columbus Day to Memorial Day). !! 4-wheel drive and snow tires are required for winter stays. Do not drive to the bottom of the hill without 4-wheel drive and snow tires. You will get stuck, and while our neighbors are friendly, they may not be able to help you get out and it poses a safety risk. !! You will have to walk from your car to the cottage. It may be slippery in the winter during in-climate weather.
