Surrounded by nature on a small, private lake and 2.5 acres of woods, The Chata Lodge is filled with comforts like an equipped kitchen & outdoor activities for the whole family. The space The Chata Lodge is a wooden retreat nestled in the deep foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Northern Georgia. The property sits on 2.5 private acres of wooded land and overlooks a small lake all while being tucked inside an intimate, gated community. The lake spans approximately 3 acres, which is a great size for swimming, fishing, kayaking, or using the canoe. You cannot use a boat or motorized watercraft on the small lake. Unlike most rental spaces, we aim to provide items that other rental hosts do not. You will find a variety of complimentary K-Cups & creamers in the kitchen as well as real glassware and cookware, a single person kayak & a three person canoe by the lake, blankets & pillows in the bedrooms, toys for the little ones, a few books, and more. We even include a complimentary basket of firewood for your stay! Travel sizes toiletries can be found in all bathrooms. Need to toss in some wash during your stay? Use our washer & dryer - two loads worth of detergent is made available for guests during their stay. Play pool, air hockey, or game on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade in the game room. Enjoy cornhole on the green, take a dip in the six person hot tub, roast s’mores around the fire pit, enjoy an outdoor picnic, or take a leisurely paddle around the private pond in our kayak or canoe! We have several rocking chairs on both the front & back porches, so you can “rock & relax” as you enjoy your morning cup of coffee. The lodge accommodates couples and families alike with three king bedrooms for adults or teens (one king bedroom is located on the main floor), and a fourth bedroom for kids with a bunk bed (twin over full), stuffed animals, and DVDs. The den features four, large, leather chairs around a two story stone fireplace. A large outdoor fire pit with six Adirondack chairs await outside. Little ones are sure to enjoy the “Narnia Nook”; a secret room filled with various “treasures” off the second story loft. Guest access You will have full access to the house, game room and grounds with the exception of the keeper's garage and the utility room. Guests must stay on our property and not hike or wander onto neighbor’s lots. Go explore and enjoy! Other things to note WILDLIFE: There is abundant wildlife that shares the area with us. Deer, turkeys, geese, turtles, scorpions, lizards, wild birds and even the occasional poisonous snake or bear will show up from time to time. It is part of what makes it so special! We want you and the other creatures to have a good experience with one another. Be sure to follow the safety guide in the house book to avoid attracting bears and other unwanted encounters with wild creatures. 🚨Watch where you step outside - as this is the DEEP woods in the Appalachian mountains. Covered shoes are encouraged when walking around outside, and guests should use flashlights at night. 🚨Please bring any emergency treatments and/or allergy medications with you, as mosquitos, scorpions, snakes, and other critters are all around and the home. The remote location could result in a delay in receiving medical attention if necessary. Bug spray is recommended in the summer months. Sorry, but we do not allow parties, nor do we rent to people without reviews. PETS: One small, house trained dog under 25lbs is welcome with permission & a pet fee. Dogs must be crated when guests are not at the home. Unfortunately, we cannot allow cats on the property. TRASH: Due to the lodge’s remote location, no trash company is available. Our cleaning team will remove the trash from the two large trash bins outside the home, as well as from the small trash cans in the bathrooms. ‼️ Any additional trash or recycling must be removed by the guests at their own expense. We are happy to provide the locations of the county dumpsters. Failing to remove your trash will result in being charged extra fees.
