It's a three block walk to Main Street with its wine bars, pubs, restaurants and shops, right across from the riverfront park. Our street is quiet, with very little traffic, BUT very infrequently a freight train passes by on the bridge behind the house. It's Willamette Valley Railroad and they only have two locomotives. I can't find what the schedule is but I've stayed there a lot and it's not frequent. Once in a while there's on in the early morning hours. Walk to downtown independence and enjoy 3-4 free parking spots on the driveway and gravel pad or use the single car garage. The street is very quiet and mostly free of traffic, but an occasional locomotive passes on the bridge behind the house. Sometimes there's one in the early am hours. They are infrequent.
