Each room has its own design dating back to the Victorian era with original furniture, the quirkiness of the original structures and décor. We’re located near local businesses including a quaint coffee shop, multiple restaurants and shops all located near the Mississippi River and there is a rental shop nearby if you are interested in riding tandem or on a tricycle. Guest access We are a self check in hotel. You will be sent instructions prior to your stay with codes for the front door and codes for your room. These codes are unique to each guest during their stay. Other things to note Welcome to The Anderson House Hotel Here at The Anderson House Hotel, we’re proud to offer a one-of-a-kind stay in a beautifully preserved historic building, nestled in a small rural town. Our hotel operates a little differently than those in big cities—and that’s part of our charm. We’re excited to host you and truly wish we could be here to greet you in person. However, like many businesses, we’ve faced staffing challenges since COVID and have adapted accordingly. We now operate entirely as a self-check-in hotel, similar to the Airbnb model. This allows us to keep our prices affordable while still providing you with a comfortable and memorable stay. How Self Check-In Works: Before your arrival, you’ll receive an email with everything you need: • Your code for the main entrance • Your unique room code • Parking instructions, house rules, quiet hours, and local dining recommendations While we’d love to chat with you about the hotel’s rich history, our current model helps us keep the doors open—and the experience special. A Piece of Living History The Anderson House is proud to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We acquired this beautiful building during the pandemic, and she has stood strong for over 160 years. Please note: There is no elevator, as preserving the original structure is part of maintaining our historic status. All guest rooms are located on the second and third floors, just as they were when the hotel was first built. Each room is unique—some feature clawfoot tubs, others walk-in showers, a few even include Jacuzzi tubs. You'll also find charming period wallpaper and furnishings. We’ve worked hard to blend the elegance of the past with the conveniences of today, including: • Free Wi-Fi • Smart TVs • Central air conditioning • A cozy second-floor coffee room with a Keurig station, water cooler and a mini fridge if you need to store your goods. Our Historic Quirks Being over a century and a half old, our hotel has its quirks—creaky floors, the occasional finicky appliance, or the need for a quick fix. If something’s not quite right (a light bulb out, a beeping smoke detector, or a minor leak), please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re always just a call or message away and will do our best to resolve it promptly. In Your Room Each room contains a guest binder with: • A brief history of The Anderson House • House rules • Emergency contact information • Recommendations for local food and drink spots We genuinely love this building and all her little quirks, and we hope that during your stay, you’ll come to love her too. Best regards, The Entire Team at Superior Stays
