Explore your local surroundings by taking a stroll around Painswick, where you will find St Mary's Church just outside your doorstep, the award-winning Painswick Hotel, The Royal Oak, The Falcon, or St Michael's Restaurant, giving you plenty of options for a break from the kitchen. - The village of Painswick, affectionately known as “The Queen of the Cotswolds”, is one of the most popular villages in Gloucestershire, probably best known for its church spire and ninety nine Yew trees and is an absolute delight with its quaint narrow streets and wealth of traditional Cotswold limestone houses and cottages. Local amenities include churches, primary school, hotel, restaurants, two public houses, a variety of interesting shops, medical centre, golf course and other recreational facilities. There are lovely country walks on Painswick Beacon with a choice of many others nearby. The nearby town of Stroud provides more extensive shopping and educational facilities and a mainline station brings London within 90 minutes travelling time. The centres of Gloucester, Cheltenham, Bath, Bristol and Swindon are all easily accessible, as are the M4 and M5 motorways. Motorway M5 J11a - 6.5 miles, Motorway M5 J13 - 7 miles, Motorway M4 J15 Swindon - 35 miles, Gloucester Railway Station - 6.5 miles, Stroud Railway Station - 4 miles, Cheltenham (central) - 10.5 miles. Distances are approximate. Guest access Free parking can be found on the main road - when you come out of Victoria Street on to the main road, either turn left or right, and you will find free parking spaces about 30 seconds drive away. There also also free 2 hour limit parking spaces outside the cottage. Alternatively, Stamages Lane Car Park (just next to the Church) is free. Other things to note Dogs are welcome to stay at an additional cost of £30.00 per night per dog, to help cover extra cleaning fees. This will be requested separately by Air BnB, after a reservation has been confirmed.
