Mima’s Mountain House with Mountain view/Creekside

Relax with family & friends at this peaceful creekside mountain retreat. The summit of The Priest can be viewed from the front porch. With a cup of coffee, that’s where we start every day when we’re here. This beautiful stretch of the Appalachians offers so much to do within a short, scenic drive. Hiking trails, skiing at Wintergreen Resort, local farmers markets and unique shops. There are 5 breweries, 3 distilleries, 3 cideries and 10 wineries all within a 25 mile radius. Book today! The space 3300 square ft home on 2.5 acres...spacious, peaceful. -- 1st Floor -- Big open space on the first floor with kitchen, dining area, and great room/TV...but also with a nice den at the front of the house to sit in peace with a book or cup of coffee. There is a master bedroom (queen)/bathroom and another bedroom (full) & bathroom on the first floor. -- 2nd Floor -- Upstairs are three more huge bedrooms (king, queen, queen) and another large bathroom, plus a laundry room. -- Outside -- Step out on the front porch and listen to the creek flowing on the edge of the property with the Tye River just on the other side of the road. The yard is large and flat so great for games. There is a large picnic table, fire pit with seating, and grill. The property is very private with a hill behind the house, tree lines, creek, and the road along the perimeter. Guest access Guests will have full access to the entire house and yard. Other things to note When we started down this path, we wanted to create a space for family & friends to spend time together, enjoy moments, and make great memories. The woman who inspired the dedication for this gorgeous retreat was Barbara, Dan’s mom…known to her 18 grandchildren as “Mima”. She had a green thumb and could always bring about life wherever she was. From her incredible garden in New York, to her pineapple pots in Florida, to her tulips and roses in Virginia…Mima inspired hope and love in everything she touched. Mima was the matriarch for a family that loved gathering as often as possible to share stories, spend time together, and enjoy the company of loved ones. This mountain retreat is dedicated to her as the perfect place to experience the joy of these simple things. We hope you agree.
