Bethesda Lake Resort & Cabins is located on and around Bethesda Lake, a lake originally constructed in 1925 that was intended to be the centerpiece of a resort community. The original plans even included a golf course and lakeside recreation. Unfortunately, the Great Depression brought those plans to an end before the resort could be fully developed. A few years later, the Watkins family purchased the property and operated what became known as Lake Bethesda Resort, building small cabins and opening the lake for seasonal swimming. The resort served as a popular local gathering place for many years before eventually closing in the late 1960s. Over the next 50 years, the property gradually fell into disrepair. The cabins were eventually removed, maintenance declined, and the beauty of the lake and surrounding land became hidden beneath heavy overgrowth. In 2019, Michael and Jessica Myers, owners of Bethesda Springs Properties, purchased Bethesda Lake and the surrounding land with a vision to restore the historic property and bring new life to this special place. Working alongside talented local craftsmen and builders, they began transforming the land and building cabins designed to showcase the beauty of the lake and the surrounding Ouachita Mountains. Today, Bethesda Lake Resort & Cabins spans more than 300 acres and features a growing collection of cabins around the lake. Additional cabins are planned for the surrounding mountaintops, where the views rival some of the most scenic mountain destinations in the country. Bethesda Oasis welcomed its first guests in 2022 and was thoughtfully designed to provide a comfortable and memorable stay surrounded by the beauty of the lake and mountains.
