This lively area is home to a variety of events, including the Greater Gulfcoast Arts Festival, the Pensacola Jazz Fest, and the Pensacola Seafood Festival, drawing thousands of visitors each year. But Seville Square is more than just a place for festivals and events. Located just steps from museums, parks, dining, breweries, and retail, there's always something to do in this neighborhood. And with its convenient location just 8 miles north of Pensacola Beach and a short drive to Bruce Beach on Pensacola Bay, you'll have easy access to all the best that the area has to offer. As a history buff, you'll love the rich history of this neighborhood. Seville Square was originally an 1752 outpost known as San Miguel, and when the British took control of Pensacola, it was laid out as a public square by Elias Dunford in 1764. When the Spanish regained control in 1813, it was designated a public plaza and named for Seville, Spain. Today, the Seville Square Historic District spans more than 100 acres in the urban core of downtown, with a mix of housing types and a focus on beauty and a sense of place. So if you're looking for a short term cottage rental in a vibrant and historic neighborhood with plenty to see and do, look no further than Seville Square. AND THERE'S MORE... Welcome to the MTR Cottage and gardens, a historic and charming hideaway that's basically the best place to be in the Seville Historic District of Downtown Pensacola (we may be slightly biased). Experience the best of downtown living at MTR Cottage - we're within easy walking distance of all the top restaurants, shops, museums, art galleries, and parks - close enough to the happenings for convenience but far enough away for a much-needed respite. Plus, quick and convenient access to the beach. Feeling outdoorsy? Step onto the back porch and courtyard. Surrounded by a small orchard of orange trees and a serene fountain, you'll feel like you're a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You get the whole cottage and yard to yourself, with no one else to cramp your style. You'll be just a quick stroll from Seville Square, museums, parks, and breweries, but if you'd rather kick back at home, the back porch is perfect for outdoor dining and enjoying the view of the courtyard and fountain. The cottage gardens provide a tranquil oasis for weary travelers to relax, recharge, and replenish. It's the best of both worlds - close to all the hot spots in town, but also a peaceful hideaway. Thank you for considering staying with us during your visit to Pensacola. Whether you are coming for business, pleasure, or visiting family, we think you will enjoy all of our cottages and neighborhoods located in the Seville Historic District of Downtown Pensacola: Caroline Cottage (2BR, 1 BA); MTR Cottage (1BR, 1 BA) and our newest short-term rental, Church Street Cottage ( (1 BR, 1.5 BA). We have been managing vacation rentals for over 20 years and our priority is the comfort and safety of our guests while they experience a quality stay. We are a family who long ago were Pensacola Beach lovers—drawn to the beauty of the white sands and the emerald waters. Then, just like that, Hurricane Opal landed, destroying our home and way of life. Afterward, we found refuge in downtown Pensacola's Seville Historic District. It wasn't long before we fell in love with the area—a peaceful and charming neighborhood. Walkable to restaurants, theater, museums, and the vitality of Palafox St. There are many reasons we are rooted here. Most importantly, the warmth of the people in our community makes this our home. A fantastic place to live and a romantic hideaway for visitors to explore. Chuck Presti, Owner Pensacola Cottages.
