The Farmhouse - Cozy & Charming

The Farmhouse was originally located on a Fairbanks’ homestead. This home is comfortable, charming, and just a bit quirky. It features subtle Alaskan decor, with billowy down comforters and pillows on each bed. Near the Trainor Gate entrance to Ft. Wainwright and just a few blocks away from the shopping center, the Farmhouse is the perfect space for visiting family or as a landing pad for those wanting to explore Fairbanks. The space Lots of bedrooms (not to mention three full bathrooms!) make this house a great choice for large groups. The Farmhouse grew over time, so the scale of the kitchen and dining area does not match the size of the house, but that’s perfect for travelers who have places to go and things to see! The bedroom on the main level functions as an office furnished with a desk and couch, but the couch can be folded down into a full/queen bed if you request it. Two bedrooms and one bath are upstairs, with three bedrooms, bathroom, and a laundry in the basement. Enjoy the spacious yard during the summer and fall, with a bbq grill, outdoor seating, and a fire pit. Wood and s’more sticks provided. Guest access Guests will have the entire house, as well as fenced-in yard all to themselves. The garage is not available for guest use and will be locked. There is space for about 4 vehicles in the driveway. Other things to note A non-toxic home with healthy air is important to us. We have house plants and an air purifier, as well as a diffuser with essential oils. Towels and bedding are washed with fragrance-free detergent and vinegar for a softener. No dryer sheets are used, only wool cotton dryer balls. Oxi-clean is used for whitening. We know some people have sensitivities. Some things to note about our house are these: • Sheets are 100% cotton. • All of the beds have down comforters and down pillows. • There is no wall-to-wall carpet in our home, except on the stairs. • Bleach products will be used in bathrooms, as a necessity. Natural non-toxic products are used everywhere else. • We do not allow pets. However, our neighbor’s dog may make a visit to the yard, and our own dog occasionally comes with us when we stop by. If you are highly sensitive to pets, please make note of this. If you have allergy concerns, please message us with any questions or special requests. Finally, this home is on a main road. The speed limit is low, but you will probably hear traffic. There is a train track across the street and a coal train makes regular deliveries to Ft. Wainwright during the week. It is not obnoxious, and does not run on the weekends, but we do want guests to be prepared for this. Every room has a fan for white noise.
