Description
A very unique cottage, once a Methodist Chapel, built in 1859 by Cornish miners, it is now a cottage with a difference with the benefits of 21st century comforts. The house is laid out over three floors and is upside down in layout with its living areas located on the top floor (trust us the views are worth the climb). A great base for active families and groups, perfectly located for access to the fells, with local village amenities and pubs all a short walk away. The space The front door is accessed via the terrace garden and leads you into an enormous entrance hall, with high ceiling and a reproduction of the original Mount Zion Primitive Methodist Chapel signage. On this floor are two bright and sunny bedrooms. Bedroom 1 - with super king size or twin single beds. Bedroom 2 - with twin single beds. Shower room with a spacious double shower & WC. Please note there are four steps up to the shower room. First floor Up one floor, there's a double room and access to the double garage, with its washing machine, drier and freezer. There is also a sink and overhead airer, ideal for muddy/wet walking gear. Bedroom 3 - with a king size bed. Second floor The top floor is stunning, semi-open plan living area, with its arched ceiling to floor windows with views to three sides, which bathe the rooms in light. The living room, with its wooden floors, has leather reclining sofas, TV, DVD, MP3 docking station, games, books and films galore, and of course amazing views. A separate dining room has a large dining table and there's an ultra-modern quality kitchen, with 5 burner gas hob, split level oven with separate microwave with grill, large fridge with ice box, dishwasher & slate floor. There is also a family bathroom with bath with shower over & WC. Outside Paved terrace with flower beds & garden furniture adjacent to the lower front door. 10m hose pipe available (stored under garage sink) which fits on the tap at the sink in the garage. The pipe will stretch to the road for use and must be used outside only to avoid flooding the garage. Perfect for washing off muddy bikes/cars. Parking for 2 vehicles in garage with care and with a height restriction of 2 meters. Challenging access! Some street parking nearby on first come first served basis Facilities included Quality bed linen, towels, electricity, gas central heating. Property Notes The lane to the cottage is steep, twisty & narrow! Please drive carefully. Please note the stairs in the cottage are wooden and un-carpeted. We kindly advise that guests supervise small children & pets on the stairs. Stair gates available in cupboard under the stairs.
