Description

We, two families who have taken over this enchanting half-timbered house in Lüggau with great enthusiasm, are opening the doors for you to be our guests. For us, this house is not just a place to rent out, but a precious family heirloom that we have lovingly restored in 2021 and 2022. With space for families and groups of up to 11 people, we would like to invite you to be not just guests, but part of our shared history! The space There are two flats at your disposal. One slightly larger (approx. 120 square metres) on the ground floor (Heinz floor) and one slightly smaller (approx. 80 square metres) on the first floor (Ilse floor). Both flats have been freshly renovated in 2021 and 2022. On the ground floor, two wood-burning stoves provide cosy warmth in winter and the wall heating creates a great living climate. Take a look at the photos and floor plans. If you have any further questions about the house, please get in touch. The HOUSE The house is divided into two connected residential units (flat "Heinz" on the ground floor and flat "Ilse" on the first floor). It is ideal for several families or family gatherings of several generations. Groups also feel very much at home here. On the upper floor there are three bedrooms as well as a cosy living area with kitchen corner (incl. oven, hob and dishwasher) and a bathroom with shower and WC. From here you have a wonderful view over the courtyard and the idyllic village of Lüggau with its neighbouring half-timbered houses. On the ground floor there are a further 3 bedrooms (one of which is a walk-through room). The highlight here is the large eat-in kitchen (including oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher) and the spacious living room, which is flooded with morning light. In winter you can help yourself to our wood supply and the two stoves will make it cosy and warm. Overall, the house offers a great living climate thanks to the wall heating and clay plaster. We were able to preserve some historical stencil paintings in the rooms, which you can admire. The spacious downstairs bathroom is also equipped with a shower and WC as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer. The HISTORY The house was built at the end of the 19th century by our great-great-uncle Adde and passed on to his nephew August and his wife Minna, the great-grandparents of Hanne and Hendrik, who now own the house together with the whole family. The large chestnut tree, which stands magnificently next to the house, was planted in the childhood days of our grandmother Ilse and has been growing for over 90 years. Numerous family celebrations were held under the chestnut tree. When the grandchildren of our grandparents Ilse and Heinz arrived, the chestnut tree and the house continued to be the centre of family gatherings. And so it is again - with you as our guests! The VILLAGE Lüggau is located in the beautiful Wendland region, between the Elbe, Hitzacker and Dannenberg, just 1.5 hours' drive from Hamburg. A pure natural paradise! In Lüggau, in the middle of the village centre, at house number 3, stands the almost 130-year-old imposing listed half-timbered house on a 2,400 sqm plot of land, which is overgrown with a very old stock of oak trees. The centrepiece of the garden is a huge chestnut tree that is almost 100 years old. About US As children, we used to run barefoot across the courtyard in summer. We remain loyal to the large chestnut tree and the house to this day. After the death of our grandfather Heinz, we had to make a decision and could only decide in favour of taking it over. Now the listed property remains in the family. We dare the adventure of holiday letting. Come and be our guests! We look forward to seeing you! Jana, Hendrik, Hanne and Eric HOW TO GET THERE Lüggau is located right next to Dannenberg (Elbe) in the catchment area of Hamburg, Berlin and Hanover and is therefore perfect for family reunions. Just as our family used to come together here, we want it to be the same again. The Wendlandhof Lüggau should remain and become a place where families and friends come together and learn to love the farm and the place, so that it becomes a symbol of solidarity. By TRAIN: From Hamburg, Hanover and Berlin, travel to Lüneburg and from there take the slow train to Dannenberg Ost. From the station, it's not far to Lüggau - but you'll still have to take a taxi or be picked up by others travelling with you. By car: From Hamburg, take the A7 and A39 motorways and from there the B216 to Lüggau. From Hanover you can also take the A7 motorway and then the B216, or you can take the B188, B3 and B191 trunk roads. From Berlin, take the A24 motorway and then the B191 or the main roads. FACTS about the house: - Two interconnected residential units (flat "Ilse" on the 1st floor + flat "Heinz" on the ground floor) for a total of 11 guests (incl. children) - approx. 200 square metres of living space - 2 kitchens (large eat-in kitchen on the ground floor with wood-burning stove) with oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher - 2 bathrooms with WC, shower, washbasin, washing machine and tumble dryer - 6 bedrooms with single beds (90*200cm) and double beds (180*200cm) - Large living room (on the ground floor) with wood-burning stove and table football - Large garden (2,400 square metres) with fire bowl and barbecue Guest access The entire house is at your disposal. Feel at home, use the garden, cook upstairs or downstairs in the kitchens and have a great holiday with us. Other things to note Our house is located in the centre of the village and due to the history that connects us to both the farm and the people of the village, it is firmly integrated there. The fact that this is now changing with you is part of a natural transformation. We hope that you will be an enrichment and revitalise the village. However, we would also like to make it clear in advance: If you already know that you are a very loud group and want to party late into the night, then you are not in the right place.
