The Duck Nest - Beachside unique farm stay

The Ducks Nest is a beachside unique "Back to Basic" side by side cabin and vintage caravan, nested in a rescued animals sanctuary. Very tranquil with some home comforts (fully equipped kitchen, shower, cassette toilet and a further flushing toilet 1min walk away), everything you need for the perfect getaway, a few meters from the beach. You can enjoy the sea views, the petanque court or borrow our kayaks … Get in touch if you want to book 1 night only, bring your dogs or add more guests. The space The Ducks Nest is a very unique and simple space, offering a small but fully equipped private cabin & caravan. Enjoy the privacy but knowing you are not far from everything. Only 50 meters from your deck is the lovely white sandy inner harbour Pahoia Beach. The great thing about this beach is you are never faced with big waves, only gentle lapping at your feet. There is plenty for children to explore: beach & sea activities, observing turtles on the island, walking the deer and the horse … On rainy days there is a variety of videos, cards, games and puzzles.. just ask Tracey. Choose how to spend your days with : Beach walks, a long walk along stop bank or visiting the next peninsular where there are shops and parks etc. Go fishing off the front lawn & catch your dinner, Walk a short distance along the beach to Pahoia Domain & catch dinner off the rock, Enjoy the outside BBQ with table and sun umbrella, outside lounge chairs, Practice water activities like: boating, kayaking, fishing, swimming… Admire mesmerizing sunsets at your doorstep. Prepare a fire under our outside bath by the beach sea front (some might say romantic). Fill it up with a little water once fire has started and use the cold water to set the temperature (cold shower overhead). If you want to eat with a nice seaview, there is the outside kitchen/BBQ area to use .. Just check with Tracey in case there is an event booked. The Duck Nest has a bathroom (compost toilet and shower) and a kitchen which has basic cooking equipments as a fridge, a microwave, a small cooker… It has tea & coffee making facilities, & basic cooking ingredients eg, cooking oil, salt & pepper. There is also an additional Black Toilet 30m walk: should you need a washing machine just ask Tracey. This space is for 6 guests : 3 in the cabin 1 double bed & 1 single (over the double bed in a bunk style), 3 in the vintage caravan: 1 queen bed & 1 single. The perfect family or friends getaway. Bring your 4 legged family members, we have plenty of room (please ask at booking time). You can also add a tent (please ask at booking time). Guest access You are welcome in the Birdhaven sanctuary, around the property walkway, over the two bridges to the turtles islands in the duck pond. You can explore the whole property! There is an extra long walk along the embankment running parallel with the mangroves. Use of kayaks, paddle board … are supplied at no charge (with old lifejackets - soon to be improved). Please wash upon return and jackets too. Other things to note Linen is not supplied however can be hired from us, as we are in the country the costs are high. We provide clean duvet covers, duvets, pillows, bathmat & tea towels you just need to pack sheets, pillow cases and your own towels. However, if you are bringing your Dog we ask you to bring your own Duvets .. then everyone can enjoy your time without keeping dogs off beds .. and we know they all like to pop up.
