MDQ, a natural oasis on the Via Francigena

Inside the Artistic Natural and Cultural Park of Val d'Orcia and on the famous Via Francigena, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. MDQ was a classroom which was afterwards refurbished but maintained its original features. It has a flat screen TV, a Nespresso coffee machine, a kettle, a vast selection of teas and infusions and all the comforts our guests may need. The private bathroom has the bidet, complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer. The structure has free WiFi and air conditioning. The space The thermal baths of Bagno Vignoni and San Filippo are extremely near MDQ and they make it the best place for visitors who are looking for rest total relax: our guests will find here the perfect atmosphere to take a break from the chaotic everyday life, in order to cultivate an artistic impulse or find the right peace to dedicate themselves to spiritual and religious meditation. All this is made possible by the beautiful Chiesa della Madonna delle Querce (literally “church of the Virgin of the Oaks”), which takes its name by the image of the Holy Virgin which was found in 1676 and placed at the feet of the oak around which the church was built afterwards. On the second Sunday of September, a beautiful celebration of the Holy Virgin is held in this church: a very peculiar event and a wonderful opportunity to discover the fascinating community of the area. Guest access Reaching MDQ is very simple: thanks to the motorway, Castiglione d’Orcia is well connected with all the more important cities in the surroundings. The nearest one is Siena, but just a few kilometres away there is Florence, Perugia and Grosseto. It is also very easy to reach the structure from Rome, which is connected by the motorway.
