Other things to note Location & surroundings – nature, culture & Lake Constance happiness The Alte Ölmühle holiday barn is located in the middle of a wonderfully quiet, rural environment in the heart of the Hegau – where volcanic cones shape the landscape and nature invites you to breathe deeply. Right outside the front door, hiking trails, cycling routes and walking paths start – with panoramic views of the Hohenhewen, one of the most beautiful castle ruins in the region. Perfectly connected: Only about 900 meters from the barn, the Seehas train stops, which takes you comfortably to Konstanz every half hour – past vineyards, the Untersee and the Reichenau. Ideal for trips without a car! The old town of Engen is a real gem – with cobblestones, small cafes, boutiques, galleries and the historic city center, which has been lovingly restored. In a few minutes you can reach bakeries, restaurants and small shops with regional specialties on foot. And if you are looking for the lake: Lake Constance with its beaches, swimming spots, boat trips and picturesque places such as Radolfzell, Meersburg or even Constance is very close – and yet you are far from the hustle and bustle here.
