Looking for a unique getaway- what could be more fun than a custom built post & beam barn. While this barn never stored hay or animals it was built for unique living experience complete with a massive fireplace (with propane insert) high end finishes and even on suite baths in both bedrooms. While not on Lake Winnipesaukee, it is literally 3 mins away and right down the street from Mount Major, 10 mins to Gunstock and 15 minutes to Meadowbrook and Weirs Beach. The first floor is an open concept L-shaped space with a fully stocked eat in kitchen and dining area with a great fireplace with propane insert which lets out heat but also provides ambiance/romance. The first floor is complete with a dining table that seats 6, kitchen island with additional seating, the largest fireplace, a cute living room space and a half bath. Head upstairs where you will find two large bedrooms - both complete with their own on-suite bathrooms. There is plenty of parking if you plan to bring your boat (with two public launch ramps onto Lake Winnipesaukee 3 minutes down the street). What a great place to getaway. Situated in Alton Bay right off of Route 11 on a nicely paved road and conveinent to local restaurants and attractions. There is plenty of hiking in the area and right down the street from both Mount Major and Pine Mountain. There are close by public boat launch ramp right in the bay as well as the Town of Alton Beach and Ellacoya State Park not too far away. There are also many area attractions close by including the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion, Gunstock Mountain Resort, Weirs Beach & Funspot to name a few. Plan your trips by lake or by land while you stay - any questions on activities do not hesitate to ask - we are local and love it here and would love to share some of our favorite places. There is not much public transportation around Lake Winnipesaukee, but plenty of ways to travel, so pack not only the car, but the boat and jet skis for that matter. There is ample parking on site and plenty of room for a boat trailer with 2 public launch ramps into Lake Winnipesaukee 3 miles down the street. The house is stocked and ready for you to enjoy. In the kitchen you will find all the basic pots, pans, silverware, plates, spatulas, etc - please just bring your own food and fancy condiments. There is always plenty of toilet paper and paper towels. The beds will all be made and ready for you upon arrival as well as bathroom towels. There is a tv in the main living room with basic cable and smart remote so you can log into your Netflix account and internet available as well. There is a really lovely propane fireplace insert that is remote controlled if you want a little ambiance or romance you are good to go. We provide the basic wood for outdoor fires.
