Description

Life is good on the farm! Our charming three-bedroom guest house offers a true home-away-from-home experience, where rolling fields, open skies, and friendly cows are your closest neighbors. Enjoy breathtaking sunrises and sunsets in a peaceful countryside setting, just 11 miles from downtown Culpeper. You’ll be close to numerous wineries, breweries, and historic sites, with easy day trips to the Shenandoah Mountains, Lake Anna, Fredericksburg, Charlottesville, and Washington, DC. The space You’ll enjoy full, private use of the three-bedroom home and spacious yard. The guest house is thoughtfully furnished for comfort, and the fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals at home. Our fields are home to Hereford, Scottish Highland, and Texas Longhorn cattle, which rotate through the pastures throughout the year. Depending on the season of your stay, you may even spot newborn calves in the nearby fields—a sight that never gets old. Guest access The guest house has its own private entrance off the main driveway, with ample parking available. Our home is located about a third of a mile away, so most of the time it will feel like you—and the cattle—are the only ones on the farm. There’s nothing quite like relaxing on the porch as the sun sets, the livestock settle in for the night, and the stars begin to shine. Other things to note The Civil War Battle of Morton’s Ford took place on our farm as troops were camped out on both sides of the Rapidan River which borders our property. The battle was an attempt to distract attention from a planned Calvary-infantry raid up the Virginia Peninsula on Richmond. Confederate cannon pits and trenches remain visible today.
