Description
Set on a one acre property, this gorgeous waterfront cottage gives you direct access to beautiful Lake Shawenegog. 30 min drive to Bon Echo provincial park. This is a perfect retreat for a small family or three couples looking to relax away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There is plenty of parking, a large deck overlooking the water, a dock down by the lake and a screened gazebo to stay away from bugs at night. A true Canadian adventure only 3.5hrs from Toronto and 2.5 from Ottawa. The space This space is extremely cozy with a top of the line wood stove for the rustic ambiance you're looking for and to keep you warm on chilly nights. The kitchen is spacious for cooking and dining together and the living room includes comfortable seating, board games, books and a desk set up if you need to get some work done. There are 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. All bedrooms have queen beds but 2/3 bedrooms are on the smaller side. There is an extra room for a bit of storage and we’ve added a desk for another remote work set up if two people need to be on calls at the same time. There is Starlink internet so really fast for rural internet and more than enough for video conferencing, emails, etc... Outside there is plenty of parking, a wood shed with chopped wood for your use, a fire pit area, a big deck with seating, bbq, another screened in porch for when the bugs are bad and then of course a walk down to the dock where you have private access to the beautiful lake. Guest access The entire property! Cottage, acreage, lake. Other things to note We have a water dispenser up there with big jugs of water and propane is on the deck or in the garage for your use. Do not drink the water from the taps as it's lake water. There is a 25 minute drive on a gravel road to get into the cottage. It is a beautiful drive and of course means you're that much more secluded in the wilderness. There are no issues driving without AWD in the spring, summer and fall but go slowly and stick to the right in case a car is coming the other way as the road is tight. If you are driving up at night please go slowly on this road as there are no lights and it is a single lane gravel road for parts.
