Welcome to The Lavender House, a 1940s historic Tucson home situated in the desirable San Clemente neighborhood. Lovingly remodeled using old-world materials and techniques, the Lavender House features handmade Moroccan tiling, a vintage soaking tub, lime wash walls, original oak floors, and marble countertops. Enjoy outdoor dining and grilling, make a fire in the fire pit, or lounge around the pool where you'll feel transported to the Mediterranean beneath the old olive trees. The space The Lavender House is for anyone who wants a central location in Tucson and prefers understated luxury, charm, and tranquility. This is not a "copy/paste" Airbnb -- artwork is original and furniture has been collected over time by the owners from designers, artisans, and antique stores across the west coast and Europe. BEDROOMS The house is divided into two wings offering privacy for you and your group. Two bedrooms (a king and a queen) as well as a bathroom with shower, sit on the poolside of the house with views of bamboo, bougainvillea, and the pool area. The primary bedroom (king) with an ensuite bathroom sits on the east end of the home and features views of a small, private courtyard with creeping roses. The bathroom area includes a walk-in shower, vintage soaking tub, and walk-in closet. Each bedroom is equipped with high-quality linens, 4 down pillows, a down duvet, a ceiling fan, and light-blocking shades. Guests often compliment the comfort of the beds. OUTSIDE AREAS The garden offers various spaces to enjoy; take a dip in the pool, sunbathe on the loungers, have dinner alfresco at one of two dining tables, gather around the BBQ for outdoor cooking, or cozy-up next to the fire pit. The surrounding garden has been landscaped with a Mediterranean flair, from lavender, sage and rosemary to pomegranate, citrus, and old olive trees. AMENITIES INCLUDE: -Pillow-top/memory foam mattresses with 100% cotton linens, down duvet, and down pillows. -Spacious living room with a custom 9-foot deep-seat couch -Flatscreen TV with Netflix -High-speed wireless internet powered by Cox -Decorative fireplace (*Currently unusable. Message us to arrange use) -Fully equipped kitchen with all the essentials and more (Ninja blender, air fryer, instant pot, etc.) -Fire pit with seating -Pebble-tech pool (unheated) -Outdoor shower -4 Pottery Barn sun loungers next to the pool -Outdoor lounge seating area next to the pool under the olives -Two outdoor covered dining areas for dinner alfresco -Grill -2xweek pool service (Monday and Thursday) and 2xmonth landscaping service (every other Thursday). Guest access Guests have private access to all areas of the home including pool, patio, walled backyard, driveway and all spaces within the house. The circular driveway can accommodate up to four cars. The garage is not accessible by guests (if you are coming with bicycles, message us to arrange special access for storage in the garage). Other things to note *This house may not be suitable for children under the age of 12 because the pool is not fenced off from the house or backyard. Please do not book this listing if you will be traveling with any guests under the age of 12 who do not know how to swim.* Pool is unheated, but open year-round. We use it as a cold plunge in the winter :) During the summer months, the thermostat is set to a minimum of 72 degrees to help conserve energy. If you would like to keep the house at a cooler temp, message us and we can arrange. Due to the time needed to adequately clean the property, we are not able to offer early check-in or late check-out. Please book an extra night if you would like to guarantee an early check- in or a late check- out. Security cameras are placed at the front door, driveway, backyard, and pool area for guests’ security and safety. Absolutely no cameras are inside the house. If an unauthorized event occurs, a $500 fee will be charged. No parties or events are allowed, per Airbnb policy. 21 days or longer stays will be responsible for paying any additional electricity charges above and beyond a 3 month average.
