Memorial Day to Labor day all the amenities and lake access are open.(fees apply) For your info: The Rec Center at Snow Flake lodge has numerous activities. Again it opens on Memorial Day and closes on Labor day. To use the Rec Center you must bring the guest card located on the refrigerator chalkboard. Whether you are stopping by just for lunch and a swim, or you want to spend the day, the amenity list is complete. The list includes: weekend dining at Snowflake Lodge and a Summer Snack bar. A pool, two lakes, children’s play equipment, and tennis courts. In the Family Fun Zone you will find a basketball court, ping pong tables, bocce, shuffleboard, corn hole and horseshoes. Fees do apply for use of Blue Lakes Springs Rec Center Again the facilities have the following: 4 Tennis courts Bocce and Shuffleboard Ping Pong and Foosball Horseshoe Pits Pickle Ball, (ask to set-up) Exercise room Beach Volleyball Play Yard for toddlers Snack Bar and Snowflake Lodge Restaurant Lodge and 2 swimming lakes Use the guest pass (located on the chalkboard attached to the side of the fridge), when you go in and pay at the check-in counter. There are other lakes and rivers if you want to explore them in the area. Within 10 minutes *Fishing ,(is renown at the small private lakes, lake Alpine and the Stanislaus River.) *Kayaking *Canoeing *Stand up paddling *Lake swimming *Spelunking caverns *Shopping in Murphys *Foosball, *Sledding *Canoeing *Rafting and floating on lakes and rivers. *FISHING, FISHING, FISHING: here are some of the hot spots to fish, but check-in with Ebbetts Pass Sporting Goods a few minutes from the cabin for current conditions: *WHITE PINES: Bait fishermen should try using Berkley Garlic scented Power Bait, Garlic scented Eggs, Mice Tails, Gulp Eggs, Corn scented Power Bait, and nightcrawlers using a sliding sinker rig. Be sure to use any of the assorted scents we carry to enhance your fishing experience. Lure fishermen should try Kastmasters, Panther Martin spinners, Rooster Tails, and Thomas Buoyant. Fly fishermen should try using sparrow nymphs, woolly buggers, adams, blue wing olive, nymphs, and ants. You can also fish for bluegills with your child. They are fun and easy to catch and a great way to start your child fishing. Stop by and see Ebbetts Pass sporting goods to help you and your child get started. *LAKE ALPINE: Bait casters should try Berkley Garlic Power Bait, Garlic Eggs, Gulp Eggs, Mice Tails, Berkley Salon Eggs Peach Power Bait, Grape Nymph, Salmon Eggs Scent Red Power Bait using a sliding sinker rig or a cast-a-bubble rig. You can also float a nightcrawler using a worm blower or use a scented marshmallow or Berkley Power Egg. Lure casters should try Kastmasters, Rooster Tails, Panther Martin's, Thomas Buoyants, Jakes Lures. Fly fishermen should try woolly buggers, sparrow nymphs and bead head nymphs, mayflies,and ants. *SPICER RES.: Lake has been dropping and now below the ramp and difficult to launch. The weather has been very warm but as of late the weather has cooled significantly and fishing should improve. Trollers should try using wedding rings, needlefish, phoebe, and cripplures behind your favorite dodger tipped with either a nightcrawler, Berkley Gulp Nightcrawlers. Don't forget to use scent to enhance your trolling rig. Bait casters should try Berkley Garlic Eggs, Berkley Mice Tails, Berkley Garlic Power Bait, Salmon Peach, Grape Nymph Power Bait, and nightcrawlers using a sliding sinker rig. Lure casters should try Panther Martin's, Rooster Tails, and Kastmasters. Fly fishermen should try sparrow nymphs, woolly buggers, adams, caddis, bead head nymphs, midge flies and ants. *NORTH FORK OF THE STANISLAUS: Water levels have dropped considerably and a lot easier to fish. Lure fishermen should try Panther Martin Spinners, Rooster Tails, Kastmasters, Vibrax Bullet Fly spinners, and Mepps. Bait fishermen should try Salmon Eggs, night crawlers, Mice Tails, and Garlic Power Bait using a split shot rig. Fly fishermen should try big streamers, woolly buggers, hoppers, adams, spinner flies, caddis, and bead head nymphs. *BEAVER CREEK: Beaver Creek is very low at this time of year. Fly fishermen can still find fish if they work hard. *UNION RESERVOIR: Planted *HIGHLAND LAKES: Open now and catching the beautiful Brook Trout. *ANGELS CREEK: Was planted *Kinney Reservoir: Was planted It's a short half mile walk to the Blue Lake Springs/ Snow Flake Lodge amenities. You may also drive the 5 minute drive to the large parking lot available for you. Big Trees State Park is less than a 10 minute drive and Bear Valley about a half-hour drive. We are located very close to all the important places you'll want to visit. We are so happy you chose "Mountains of Fun," for you and your loved ones.
