I am readily available by email, phone or text if needed before and during your stay to offer you a comfortable memorable getaway; otherwise, you are left alone to enjoy yourselves. Paved Roads all the way to Bearfoot Falls, nestled on 20+ acres (very private) with 3000’ elevation on top of Oglethorpe Mountain. 5-40 acre homesites with only 40 permanent residents on private roads. Secluded with no homes in sight most of the year, yet only 15 minutes to Jasper, 20 minutes to Ellijay, 30 to Dawsonville, 35 to Dahlonega, and only an hour North of Atlanta. 2WD is fine except in Winter when we recommend AWD or 4WD SUV for mountain driving in case of the occasional snow. (Chains recommended if a snow storm). Our Private Roads are paved but steep in some areas and may not be passable immediately after a snowstorm. Drive slow and put in lowest gear when approaching home. Roads may take a day or more to clear after a snowstorm, which could cause delays in check in or check out. *I recommend trip insurance . We are located in a secluded natural surrounding 20 minutes from shopping, so plan to stock up prior to your arrival. (Kroger & Ingles are on Hwy 515 in Jasper) (Kroger & Publix in Dawsonville on 400). Instacart delivers to house, weather permitting. Our waterfall flows year-round (Full force in Spring or after rainstorm so be cautious & don’t get too close as it could be slippery & dangerous) AT&T cell service is best, TVs in most rooms with Amazon Video,YouTube TV for local channels & sports on a 65” Smart TV, & 3-40” TVs with kinetic high speed internet provided. WiFi & power outages are possible during extreme weather. We provide lanterns & flashlights. Paved roads but some steep so use lowest gear when approaching home. 2 bundles of firewood are provided for fireplace between October 1-April 1. You might want to bring duralogs or fire starter. Don’t feed bears or approach cubs. *Keep car doors locked; bears can open car doors. Guests are in the mountains and woods and depending upon the time of year may encounter Bear, Deer, Turkey, Ladybugs, Carpenter Bees, Wasps, Scorpions, Snakes, Ticks, Ants, Chiggers, Squirrels etc. Guests are encouraged to dress accordingly and to bring insect repellent for outdoor activities. Our home is located in the mountains in a natural setting where critters and bugs might enter the house from your clothes, shoes or firewood. We do not refund for this. Please be considerate of our neighbors quiet enjoyment of their property and don’t walk or drive on their property. Stay on trails & don’t cross the stream. *Be sure to check the weather before booking, especially in the winter. All roads to our home are paved, (steep in some areas) usually clear and accessible in any vehicle. 2WD is fine except in Winter when we recommend AWD or 4WD SUV for mountain driving in case of the occasional snow. (You will need chains if snow or ice). Local roads can be covered with ice or snow in winter, as well as be curvy and steep. Drive slow and put in lowest gear when approaching home. We are not liable for inclement weather (including ice and/or snow that could delay your arrival or departure date/time), sickness or family emergency disrupting your vacation. We do not refund due to road conditions or closures, acts of nature, storms, or power outages. Travel insurance is recommended for the unforeseen need to cancel (illness, accident, weather). We cannot be held liable for weather which could cause road closures due to storm or snow. We provide startup supplies to include: coffee, cream, sugar, paper towels, toilet paper (2 rolls/bath), 4 kitchen trash bags, liquid hand soap for kitchen & baths, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, dishwasher pods, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent for a couple loads, salt, pepper, & cooking oil. We have a regular drip coffee maker with permanent filter. We have a Ring Video Camera at the front door that monitors our entrance door and front of house for security of our home. It is usually on. No other recording devices (audio or video)are located on our property inside or outside. **Please notify me before booking if you plan to bring a Service Animal so we can prepare our home accordingly. Checkout Procedures: *Leave all used Linens/blankets/pillows on unmade beds *Place used towels & robes in tub *Load & run dishwasher *Empty refrigerator * ALL trash must be BAGGED & tied in trash bags, removed from house, put in outside black box at top of driveway by gate & latched (no loose trash or boxes) * Turn off oven, stove, grill & propane *Turn hot tub to 98 & cover securely *Turn off ALL lights (inside & out) *Lock door
