FEATURED IN Madison Magazine's, December 2021 issue, "Wisconsin Winter Cabin Getaway"....The River Birch Cabin is a 900 sq ft A-Frame nestled in a partially wooded lot and is the perfect couples retreat or family escape from the city. Just 2 blocks from Lake Como, there are many activities & restaurants nearby including kayak & boat rentals. It is also located within minutes of Lake Geneva Ice Castles/Winter Realms, plus fishing, hunting, hiking, ziplining, snow skiing, boating & much more. Along with an amazing fire pit area and open concept living area, the River Birch Cabin offers a private large balcony off the main 1st floor bedroom - a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or read a book among the tall pine trees one with nature. The upstairs bedroom (the Treehouse) has 2 twin beds with room to add an additional sleeping arrangement (folding small twin cot/bed) to accommodate a fifth person (NOTE: this bed /cot is 30"x70"). Not only is the River Birch a perfect summer escape, but it is also perfect for that Fall/Winter getaway. The River Birch has undergone a full renovation in early 2021 while keeping the authentic feel of the 1960's A-Frame intact. The cabin boasts an electric fireplace for those cool fall/winter nights, full kitchen complete with small oven, dishwasher and microwave and a renovated bathroom with walk-in shower. Lake Como is a private community with two sandy beaches, two play areas for the kids along with sand volleyball for the teens and great Northern Pike, bass and blue gill fishing. Bring your bathing suits, fishing poles and sunblock. We aim to please. The River Birch is located within minutes of some of the best golf courses in southern Wisconsin - including Geneva National, the Grand Geneva and Hawk's View to name a few. Fall fun includes Oktoberfest, apple picking, etc. During the winter months, the River Birch has excellent snow skiing options close by at Grand Geneva (10 minutes) and Alpine Valley (30 minutes). Also minutes away is the Lake Geneva Ice Castles and the infamous Winterfest with Ice Sculpting competition. While we strive to give our guests the convenience of all the modern-day conveniences, this space is not suitable to be used as a work environment, especially if video calls are required. This is a "NO SMOKING" rental. However, there is a designated area outside for smoking. *Please be aware that due to contact free check-in and for safety reasons a security camera is mounted to the front of the A-Frame facing the street with voice and video recording capabilities. The owner's of the River Birch reside directly behind the cabin behind tall pine trees for complete privacy for our guests. We are there should you have any needs or concerns and are more than willing to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We are just a phone call away. The owner's know the area well as they have been enjoying Lake Como for over 45 years as part-time residents just recently becoming full-time residents. The Lake Como community is quite popular among Lake Geneva area visitors. It's convenient location makes it centrally located to Lake Geneva (8 minutes), Delavan Lake (10 minutes), Fontana and Williams Bay. Entertainment options include: Zip line and adventure park (Canopy Tours) (5 minutes), downtown Lake Geneva (8 min) shopping, restaurants and Lady of the Lake tours, boat rentals, the Belfry Theater (12 min), movie theaters, Friday night fish fry, mini-golf (20 min), bike and hike trails (Pedal and Cup) and much more. Lake Como has 3 restaurants/bars right on the lakefront (all kid friendly) making it super convenient for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Next Door Pub (coming soon) & Papa's are within walking distance. 2 PARKING SPOTS AVAILABLE IN FRONT OF HOME. A signed rental agreement and ID will be required prior to confirming booking per our insurance requirements. Must be 25 or older to book. $100 pet fee plus additional $300 Pet Deposit is required. Limit 1 dog. Up to 60 lbs Due to contact-free check-in and for added safety, a camera is mounted to the front of the cabin facing the street. While we happily welcome children, the cabin is not childproofed. It is the guests' responsibility to childproof. No refunds will be given due to weather related cancellations and/or COVID. During these uncertain times, we highly recommend purchasing travel insurance (cancel for any reason) to protect your travel arrangements if this is of concern for you. However, it will need to be purchased independently by the guest.
