A boutique Dog-Friendly ground floor Coastal Holiday Apartment in Barton-on-Sea on the edge of the New Forest The space If you're thinking about a few days by the sea, this is the part where we're supposed to tell you about the apartment. So here goes. It's private, ground floor,  comfortable and entirely yours. There's a king-size Hypnos bed, a rather super Italian double sofabed, a shower that's suspiciously difficult to leave, and enough tea, coffee and essentials to make arriving feel less like checking in and more like being expected. Dogs are welcome too. Yours has probably already decided this looks excellent and is quietly waiting for you to get on with booking it for it's outdoor dog spa ( minus the cucumber refreshers!). Children are welcome as well. We realise they may not have been entirely consulted during the booking process, but Barton has beaches, ice cream and enough space to run about. They'll cope. Dog spa can be used to hose them down too. Double wammy. The beach is across the road. The New Forest is next door. And for a few days at least, whatever's currently filling your inbox can wait. Guest access Very easy. No awkward reception desk conversations. No tiny pens chained to clipboards. There’s a key safe by the front door. Your release code will be emailed two days before arrival. Like entering a slightly more relaxing version of a spy film. Other things to note Bringing a dog? Dogs are very welcome. They usually settle in faster than the humans. There's a small charge for the extra cleaning, so please let me know if one (or two) will be joining you. After beach walks, forest adventures and enthusiastic investigations of things best left unidentified, there's an outdoor warm-water dog shower with grooming hose attachment. The attachments and valve live in the tall unit next to the dining table. Essentially it's a spa for muddy dogs, minus the cucumber slices and mindfulness music. An engineering degree is not required to operate this. Stinky kids can also be washed here too. If you like.
