The space What we are particularly proud of: The remarkably creative fitting of the glazed loggia illuminates the entire living space and opens the door to the covered balcony above the roof of the house. This turns the balcony into a living room. “Feeling good on the threshold of nature!” was the enthusiastic exclamation of a guest. In any case, fantastic sunset amazement is guaranteed. Two spacious bedrooms frame the spacious living-dining area. Bonus: A separate toilet in one bedroom Fantastic apartment on the edge of the northern Black Forest. All our apartments are lovingly furnished, so you don't miss anything and you can experience beautiful vacation days. The listed building has been extensively renovated and converted into comfortable apartments. In the vacation home there are 4 apartments, as well as an elevator. All our apartments are equipped to a high standard. In the kitchens, you will find all the appliances and kitchen aids you need for the most beautiful days of the year. At the gateway to wellness heaven, you can completely relax. After the sauna, rest on beautiful comfortable wellness loungers. Enjoy the tranquility with a glass of tea. During the renovation, we preferred ecological and biological materials. So we hid the heating pipes behind the clay plaster, which radiate a special warmth. The house was excellently insulated using cellulose. Oak wood floors adorn the floor. Exposed half-timbered walls, exposed beams or stone walls are some of the relics of the time that the now modernized house has already outlived. This is how it is generally here: old and new dictate the style. The bathrooms are all equipped with floor-level showers. Few historical sources are available on the history. In the 16th century it is mentioned that the house was run as a hospital. At that time, a hospital was not a hospital, but a kind of poor house, in which the needy received accommodation and meals, i.e. a charitable institution. Today's building was probably built in the 19th century after the former hospital fell victim to one of the city fires. For a long time, the building was used for agricultural purposes, and a basket maker also carried out his work here. Today, our cozy bakery is in the former stable. Here you can bake pizza and bread in the wood-burning oven or fry a juicy steak. On the old jukebox you can hear songs from the 70s. An ideal place for long social hours. Why a gate: Upon arrival, you will find a remarkable house. Nothing suggests that coming from the center you enter the gate to the Black Forest dream view. Guest access You will use your apartment/vacation rental alone. Additional common spaces are available for all guests to share. So there is a cozy library where you can browse the books. The wellness area with beautiful sauna is on the top floor, the bakery on the first floor is equipped with a jukebox and Häussler oven. Important: The wellness area is always used by only one apartment at a time. This ensures that a hygienic and intimate experience is guaranteed! Gateway to wellness heaven – “Close to heaven” On the 3rd floor, we have set up a wellness oasis for you. Here you can sauna in a truly heavenly way. The comfortable sauna loungers invite you to relax. Here, too, the combination of old and new, as in the entire house, is a feature that creates coziness. A warm foot bath prevents sweating. In this new wellness area, you can look through the built-in skylights either to the sky, to the tops of the Black Forest firs or to the tower of our St. Martin's Church. Bread bakery - gateway to sociability, the meeting place The bakery is a cozy meeting place and lounge. Our bakery is a real gem. Old quarry stone walls, freshly refurbished, adorn the wall. Historic tables and chairs invite you to linger in the approximately 35 square meter room. The wood-burning oven (Häussler) is fired with wood. An old jukebox can be played. You need 2 DM coins for it. Do you still have any? In order to have taken care of larger rounds, our historical cupboards are equipped with dishes from the 50s and 60s. Here you can discover, enjoy and celebrate a lot. Other things to note We'll take care of the final cleaning for you. Please leave the vacation home in a clean and tidy condition (swept clean) upon departure. We, Susanne and Dieter Stahl, like to travel ourselves and have a great passion for building with wood. It is particularly nice that we can make a historic house in Dornstetten accessible to many people, as four inviting apartments have been created in it. There or in our vacation home, you can feel completely comfortable.
