Cozy Riverfront Cottage by Rideau River

Welcome to our cozy riverfront cottage on Rideau River. Our cottage is year round and is located an hour away from Ottawa. Our cottage is on a private road situated in a quiet neighbourhood, which offers a peaceful environment for time well spent with a group of friends or small family gatherings. Our house is east-facing surrounded by greenery and fresh air. It is minutes away from the small town of Merrickville. The space Families and friends will love our waterfront acre lot featuring an oversized deck overlooking the water, generous grassy side yard, and side patio for BBQs. The is a great location for one to three families to get away together. Our space comfortably accommodates up to 6 people. Spending quality time with loved ones here is very comfortable as our home features two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a full kitchen, dining room, an open concept living room, and a laundry room. The open concept living area has a 55” smart TV, highly comfortable sofas, and large waterside windows that fill the space with natural light. The living room has beautiful sliding patio doors that will provide a bright and relaxing atmosphere facing the river. There is enough space here for everyone to lounge together. There are board games (Monopoly and Trouble) and a pool table available for kids to play, and streaming services (Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Prime, and more) on the smart TV available for your use as well. The classic French kitchen is fully equipped with all the essential appliances you'd find at home. These include a coffee maker (K cups and sugar provided), kettle, air fryer, toaster oven, a double-door fridge with freezer, oven, microwave, and a cooktop with plenty of room for your vacation groceries and drinks. Everything you need to prepare a lovely meal is provided - dishes, utensils, cutlery, pots, pans, baking sheets, salt, sugar, and pepper to make it a home-away-from-home. Tap water is safe and drinkable, sourced from the well on the property. Cleaning products are also available to clean up any spills or messes, along with a dishwasher for convenience. The kitchen is built to cater to the needs of even the most exquisite culinary tastes. If you don't want to cook, there are local restaurants in the town of Merrickville five minute drive away. Your meals can be enjoyed in the dining room at the four-chair kitchen table. Have your morning coffee at the quartz kitchen island. The master bedroom has panoramic water views, an ensuite bathroom, and a private entrance to the patio. Both bedrooms are furnished with queen-size beds with mattresses, nightstands, and closets. These bedrooms are ideal for anyone with some mobile restrictions, like grandparents. Our massive deck with four different entry points provides the perfect space where you can lounge and enjoy a glass of wine. Take in stunning panoramic views of the river, or get ready for clear night skies full of brilliant constellations. There is a BBQ zone, patio furniture, and a patio set on the deck. On rainy days, guests can still enjoy the outdoors by dining on our covered patio as the sun sets against an incredible backdrop. Walk out to the lovely backyard and enjoy a bonfire at night where there are plenty of chairs available to use. There is an outdoor fire pit and Muskoka chairs and lounge chairs by the edge overlooking the water. The very spacious side yard has enough space for all of your favorite summer activities whether it's volleyball, badminton, spike ball, or other summer games. This is a great location for fishing, boating, kayaking, and canoeing! There is plenty of parking. Massive driveway that can fit up to five cars. While we recommend unplugging, Wi-Fi will be available but can be unreliable at times due to the rural location. Works more often than not. We do have exterior security cameras for security and your safety. Please be respectful of the space and enjoy! In addition, upon final departure, the Renter must ensure that all food and beverages are removed from the rental property including cabinets, refrigerators and freezers. Failure to remove these items may result in additional cleaning fees. • Renters are liable for all damages and/or loss to the rental property caused by them or as a result of their negligence or caused by or as a result of negligence by anyone permitted on the property during their stay. • Smoking, vaping, and/or drugs are not permitted inside. • The BBQ is available for your use. Please do not move the BBQ to another location on the property and please always double check to make sure it is turned off after every use. • Please note that absolutely no other items other than bathroom tissue are to be flushed down the toilet as we are a rural property on a septic tank. ANYTHING other than bathroom tissue should be placed in the garbage. Any misuse could result in plumbing issues and service calls or repairs will be charged back to the Renter. • Please ensure you remove and dispose of all garbage, food, beer and wine bottles when you leave appropriately. • In the event that there are disruptions with our internet or Wi-Fi services due to power outages or for any other unforeseen issues at any time, this will not affect the Renters' full rental rate and without prejudice to the owners. • As a part of check out procedures, guests are responsible for making sure all personal belongings are collected. We can not be responsible for forgotten/left behind items. • Guests are asked to bring their own beach towels and accessories. • Guests are asked to bring their own fishing gear, boats, kayaks, canoes, and any other appropriate gear ideal for this stay. • We do have exterior security cameras for security and your safety. • Quiet hours are between 10 pm - 8 am local time. Please be mindful and be respectful of neighbours. • Check-in time is at or after 4pm and check-out time is prior to or at 11am. Early check-ins and late checkouts are based on availability and can be requested in advance. Additional fees may apply.
