This stunning country retreat is just 5 minute from the vineyards of Bluemont, the Shenandoah River, the Appalachian Trail, Hiking, Canoeing, Kayaking, Farmers Markets, the the cute villages or Berryville, Harpers Ferry, Middleburg, and Upperville. Other structures strictly off limits including all barns. Walks on lower forest acreage limited during hunting season. 15 acres of estate grounds are maintained and managed and for use year-round by guests. Externally the home has many decks and covered porches, covered seating and eating areas, daybeds and chairs overlooking the Meadows, a gas grill, and a small fire pit close to the home. Internally the home has: two fire places, a large television for movie watching, an old victrola and vintage vinyl record collection, an outside sunroom with comfortable daybed, desk and small art studio, a quiet library/office space leading out to a stone porch with a small fire pit and two chairs overlooking the back meadows. Special touches include a lovely art and book collection, claw foot soaking tubs, extremely comfortable linens and towels, specialty toiletries and candles and incense, and very well appointed kitchen and glassware for enjoying cooking, wine tasting - cocktail recipe and cook books abound, and much much more. Guest access This estate home has been completely renovated and decorated within the last month and is in wonderful condition. The Estate boasts bee hives, beautiful gardens, forest paths and plenty of space and fresh air. Perfect for a family or several couples. At their own risk, guests welcome to use grounds, gardens, bee hives. Barns and other structures are strictly off limits. Walking distance to Appalachian Trail, and close drive to Village of Bluemont and Watermelon Park on the Shenandoah. Other things to note High Meadows is an estate located on the ridge of the Blueridge Mountains between the Loudoun and Shenandoah Valleys. Located close to the Shenandoah River, the Appalachian Trail, Harpers Ferry and many historic villages, including: Bluemont, Middleburg, Upperville, Lucketts and others. The weather can be colder on the mountain so please dress accordingly and look at your weather app. We can get good snow accumulation in winter, more than in DC. On very rare occasions we do lose power, particularly during bad ice storms. Usually power is restored within a few hours and we have fire places to create a warm romantic environment. You are very close to many vineyards, craft breweries, farmers markets, and other local attractions. Bear Chase brewery and the Appalachian Trail trailhead called Bears Den are both in walking distance. The property has a large fire pit that guests may use. Ok
