Historic Hughes House
Historic Hughes House
Steps away from East Bay
Description
East Grand Traverse Bay and Memorial Park beach are steps away from the comfortable covered porch at Hughes House. Elk Rapids' charming downtown is a short 2-block walk where you'll find the Cinema, restaurants, shopping, antique stores, and the harbor. Our house is great for everyone: couples, families, girls'/guys' weekends in the fall, etc. The space The Hughes House was the boarding house for Elk Rapids from about 1870 through 1900, at that time it was renovated and converted into two separate full living spaces one on each floor. The pictures show the stair and the areas of the 2nd floor. Guest access Guest access includes the entire second floor of the house, veranda porch, and the large yard. The rental space is separate and secured from the first floor living space. We relocate to our family property 2 miles from the house during the rental season between mid-June and mid-August. We are not on site, but are never far away when needed. Friends of ours may stay downstairs in the summer. Other things to note Our friends may stay downstairs in the summer. The entrance to the first floor is not shared with the entrance to the second floor.
