Description
The Ancient Windmill of Sant'Angelo in Cortona is an ancient building dating back to 1000, built by the monks of the time for the grain cutting and producing flour. The house currently reflects what it was originally built for while the rooms were created internally, trying to adapt them to the needs of today's habitability. The space The Antico Mulino di Sant'Angelo in Cortona is an ancient building dating back to the year 1000, built by the monks of the time to take advantage of the water force of the stream that flows nearby to move the grinds of the grinds used for the crushing of wheat and producing flour, it was the most advanced mechanical engineering work for those times , and surely it has been managed by the monks for many centuries. We did not find a documentary record of the activity as a windmill and only by doing the renovation work we realized what was hidden under the ground level. Currently, the house therefore externally reflects what it had originally been built for while internally the rooms were created, trying to adapt them to today's habitability needs. The house is 180 square meters on the ground floor there are two living areas, one is located on the front and is a glass room where there is a dining table (air-conditioned with air conditioning and heating) and a sofa , here it seems to live in the middle of nature and under the natural sky you can spend pleasant moments at the table. Entering further inside we are in the living area with the kitchen on the left and a living area with sofas and a TV corner. In the center of the house there is the staircase that leads to the upper floor and the passage that leads to the back of the ground floor where there are two double bedrooms and two bathrooms with shower. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, one of which has a small terrace with a staircase that gives direct access to the pool and a bedroom with a single bed. Also upstairs there is a half bathroom without a shower. Outside the house there is a 500-square-meter garden and a 5000-square-meter park used as an olive grove. On the side of the house is the ancient basin of the mill that has been transformed into a swimming pool. It is built entirely with the original stone and maintains the appearance of the reservoir created many years ago. In the garden there is a BBQ area with an outdoor sink and electric stove and a shower with hot water.
