Pet friendly, downtown, garden lvl apt in duplex
Description
This recently remodeled, fully private, garden lvl apt makes up the lower unit of a historic craftsman duplex. Basic, but fully stocked with all of the essentials, this apartment is in the center of downtown with immediate access to the creek bike path, restaurants, bars, shopping, parks, hiking, and the university. The spacious and fully fenced back yard makes this apartment very pet friendly. We have priced it accordingly to reflect our understanding of both its flaws and strengths. Please read this listing and look at the photos carefully and consider whether you'd be comfortable here or not before booking. The duplex was built in 1920, and there is a unit above this one. These two factors unfortunately make it so that there is a substantial amount of noise in this unit on occasion. You will have a better stay here and will be a happier guest if you are used to sharing walls/ceilings/floors with neighbors in older apartment buildings. The kitchen is fully stocked with all of the essentials: 4 burner gas stove, refrigerator, freezer, stove top coffee percolator, stainless steel pots and pans, a few bakeware items, utensils, flatware, dinnerware, and tupperware. This unit is partially below grade but all windows are above grade and are east and south facing so it receives good light. It is heated with a small gas stove in the living area. For the colder months this gas stove provides plenty of heat for the entire unit, however we also provide an electric space heater to move into the bedroom or office as you see fit. During the warmer months the unit stays quite cool due to being below grade, however all windows also open and there is a fan. The bedroom and office are small with no designated closet space. We have a dresser and a clothes rack in the bedroom along with a queen sized bed. There is a simple desk, office chair, and external computer monitor in the office. The layout of the unit is a bit odd - requiring one to walk through the bathroom to get to the office. The washer, dryer, and other house utilities are located in the utility/laundry area in the center of the unit. This is not very aesthetic however quite convenient to have full laundry facilities available for free for your use. The living space has small lounge area next to the gas stove including a small sofa and lounge chair. Also this flows into the eat-in-kitchen which has a small dining table with seating for two. We limit the number of guests to 2 (except for special exceptions). This is to minimize the noise and impact on the unit above, and also because the space would be a bit too tight for larger groups.
