The Stonewall Cabin, near Marlinton WV

The cabin is located 15 mins from Marlinton & about 30 miles from Snowshoe Ski Resort. Marlinton is a central hub for local history & outdoor activities. Situated on 3 acres bordering Monongahela National Forest, the Stonewall offers a distinct atmosphere of life in simpler times, while providing most modern comforts. Enjoy evenings by the fireplace, or morning coffee on the porch with a good book and beautiful view. Wild & wonderful, come experience the natural beauty of Pocahontas County, WV. The space The cabin has one full bathroom, one downstairs bedroom with a queen bed & a loft above the great room with two other queen beds, and a fully equipped kitchen. It has a sizable covered front porch with a gas barbeque grill and a hot tub (see note below). There is a gas fireplace in the great room with thermostat. There is now WIFI at this cabin!! There is no cell signal at the cabin so please print off directions. There is cell signal in the nearby town of Marlinton but only AT&T. The cabin does have a landline for long distance calls. There is also a washer and dryer combo for your convenience. (Note: May 2025 - new hot tub installed) Guest access You will have access to the whole property including the fire pit & the hot tub. (May 2025 - new hot tub has been installed) Other things to note There is a spiral staircase to the loft where the 2 of the 3 beds are located so if you are bringing small children please watch them closely on the stairs. The fireplace is gas. A thermostat can be found near the fireplace to light and control the flame. A separate thermostat near the kitchen entry controls the forced heat furnace. When running the fireplace, please note it does not have a gate in front, and it tends to get very warm in the loft. In addition to a coffee maker, there is also a Keurig in the kitchen. Bring your own pods, although feel free to use any if left over. Please do not power off the hot tub for any reason unless it is an emergency. The hot tub is designed to run through the circulation and heating cycle unattended when not in use. The hot tub must be covered when not in use. This is not a pet friendly cabin so sorry.
