Description
The 1000 square foot lower level of our 1929 home features two living room areas, a bedroom with lots of natural light, a full bath, a breakfast room (no kitchen), and a private patio. You'll park in our driveway and use your own private entrance. Although the suite is mostly below-grade, there is a lot of natural daylight from all the windows and sliding glass door. We're 3 blocks from UD campus. Lorena habla espanol. The space • Bedroom. There is a comfortable queen-sized bed. The room has a lot of natural light. We provide blackout shades, and a white noise device for optimal sleeping, and an air conditioner/heater. • Bathroom: The private full bathroom has a marble tiled shower and plush towels. We provide soap, shampoo and conditioner. • Dining Area. You'll have access to a full-sized side by side refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and a selection of coffee, tea, and snacks. The table comfortably sits four. There are no cooking facilities or kitchen access except for the microwave. There is no sink in the dining area. For meals, we recommend exploring the wonderful restaurants and cafes on Main St, which is within walking distance. We provide recommendations in our Guest Guidebook. • Main Living Area. There is a couch and a love seat that will comfortably sit 5 people in front of the TV. In a separate area we have a futon couch that quickly converts into a queen-sized bed, and desk for working. • TV area. We provide a 45" flat screen TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu, along with free Wi-Fi. • Patio. We ask that you do not go upstairs to the upper deck, but the lower patio is yours to use. To use your separate entrance, you will walk down our driveway and through our driveway gate. Because the house was built in 1929, the floor is uneven in areas. The carpet is new and very plush, however, and does a good job of smoothing out most fluctuations. But you will feel the variation. The ceilings are 7', and in some places the soffits drop down to below 6' between the rooms (hence our name: The Hobbit House). These are the charming realities of owning an old home! The ceiling height isn’t intrusive, but if you are tall, there are places where you'll have to lower your head. The suite has heat in all rooms, and AC in the bedroom. Summer guests confirm that since it is mostly below ground the temperature is very comfortable. Guest access The entire suite and the covered patio are for your private use. Because we live upstairs, we ask that the patio not be used after 9pm. Other things to note This is a quiet neighborhood and the hosts live upstairs. This rental is not suitable if you are looking for a space for a party or noisy gathering.
