Description
This is one of the few spots on Mascoma lake with privacy, all day sun exposure, and a gradual slope into the water which makes it ideal for young children to play safely. It is located on a private road, with direct access to the rail trail for afternoon walks down to the rope swing, local attractions, or for an after dinner walk. The camp can comfortably sleep 8. It is a camp (crooked floors, tactfully awful furniture, and enough charm to create memories), with NE cottage charm. The space This is a camp that was built in the 60's, with some tasteful updates over time. There is an eat in dining room, breakfast bar in the kitchen, and grill on the deck facing the lake. There is a swing out front by the water should you choose to sit and relax, and a place for camp fires at night under the bright stars. We now have high speed internet, but no cable at this point. There is a TV with a DVD player to pass the time on rainy days. We are roughly 12 minutes from Dartmouth College, and an equal distance to the Upper Valley shopping centers. There are two Kayaks and a paddle boat to enjoy. There is also a dock with an open spot for your boat, or take advantage of renting one from several local companies. We do share the dock with a neighbor, but one side is always left open for you to enjoy. While the camp has plenty preexisting charm, we are working on improving it to meet the needs of our quests, and always welcome feedback. Guest access The entire house, property and private beach which is located 40 feet from the front deck. There is a share dock and floating raft with a water slide for the kids to enjoy. The slide has a 140 lbs weight limit, and can be moved out to deeper water if desired. Other things to note This is a private road, and a quiet family setting which means the property is intended for the rental quests only. We have had some issues this summer with people renting the property to host large gatherings. This is not only costly for us, but puts our access to use of the private road at risk. Moving forward we will not be allowing non-paying guests at the property without prior approval. Sorry that we have to put this in here, but at this point we are left without any other options. We have been asked a few times to set up for a special occasion, and really enjoyed being a part of it. If you would like to celebrate an anniversary, birthday, or just need a romantic get away please let us know how we can help.
