Description

The newly renovated HoneyComb HideAway (HCHA) provides guests with a modern homestead stay in Eugene. This plant-lover’s sanctuary comes with a full kitchen, private full bathroom and magnificent hilltop view of the 12-acre Lorane Highway property, GoatsBeard HomeStead. Whether you're here for a wine-tasting getaway, outdoor adventure, or University of Oregon event, or wedding, the HoneyComb HideAway will be sure to accommodate your needs. The space HCHA has a modern homestead vibe and is situated in the perfect location for both wine lovers and city travelers. This magical property is west-facing, so each day ends with unique and vibrant sunsets. A beautiful and convenient drive leads to several popular wineries, scenic hiking trails, groceries/dinning, UOregon, downtown Eugene, shopping and outdoor recreation. Our 425 sq. ft. hive is a bright and clean space to enjoy alone or with someone special. The space best accommodates 2 people (but please inquire about additional guests). Kitchen~ All new modern quartz countertops, custom cabinets, stainless steel KitchenAid refrigerator, stove, over the range microwave, and dishwasher. Also includes garbage disposal, drip coffee maker and french press, toaster, and a fully equipped kitchen to prepare and enjoy a delicious meal at the eat-in bar. If you don’t feel like cooking both Grubhub and DoorDash deliver to the property. On occasion the hens are laying, farm fresh eggs will be available (spring to fall in general). Bedroom~The studio style rental has one comfortable queen-sized bed, smart TV with streaming capabilities, wifi (note, we just upgraded to Starlink and it's proper fast and able to handle video streaming), large windows with a view and plenty of pillows and blankets to snuggle up in. The hosts are big fans of all things green and take great pride in the array of house plants for guests to enjoy. Bathroom~ Take a night to read your favorite book or recover from a long run on the Ridgeline Trail in a hot bubbly bath. The brand new honeycomb custom tile, deep soaking tub, and shower (that is also designed for tall people) provide a comforting atmosphere. Blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body soap and basic sanitary items are also supplied if needed. Outdoor Space~During the warmer months a patio set is located near the main entrance to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine. Large garden, free-range chickens and a swing under the giant oak tree behind the house are some of the joys here. Guests are free to walk and explore around the private property to seek out a nice spot to read a book or enjoy the sounds of all the amazing birds here. Boots recommended in the rainy season. Please note that this is a growing, working farm property. We have 6 cats/kittens, 1 small breed dog, 3 large livestock guardian dogs who live outside, honeybees (the B-Yahd with 10-20 hives is at the barn but on occasion hives may be peppered on the property ), 3 Oberlan dairy goats, and 40-60 hens reside on GoatsBeard HomeStead (the chickens are corralled in their own run or in our mobile coop). In the near future pigs and cattle will be here. ***Livestock Guardian Dogs: we have three LGDs here: Michael, Apple, and Zilla. They are amazing and super loving of people, including strangers. They will be fenced in with livestock, or some times loose with us as we work around the property. They do not jump but may approach you (the puppy, the biggest one, may jump). WE ask that YOU DO NOT APPROACH them when they are fenced in. They are working or and may be a bit protective. However, we're happy to introduce you. Do note that they do bark, which escalates during their "alert" period at night; we are conscious of this (please contact us if this hinders your stay and we will sort it out). Thanks for being mindful of them. They will love to meet you. ***The host family lives full-time on the main (second floor), above the HCHA. Noise and footsteps will travel through the floors at times. If this becomes a issue please don't hesitate to contact hosts. *We also have an additional bedroom w/ queen size bed for more guests available upon request and for an additional fee. This room can be a part of the hive; please inquire about cost/availability/info. The HoneyComb HideAway is owned and operated by GoatsBeard HomeStead LLC. Guest access The HCHA is an open concept, 425-square foot studio space with a private gated entrance on the first story of the main home. When you arrive you will be able to access a gate clicker; the code for the gate clicker lockbox and private entrance will be provided. Parking is located directly in front of the HCHA private entrance steps. Should you have more than one vehicle or guests, a lower-level parking spot is available a short walk from the main entrance. Guests will have access to hosts’ private upper deck upon request. You wouldn’t want to miss a selfie in front of the gorgeous sunsets. Please inquire about accessing the deck. Other things to note ~Washer and dryer are available upon request and during extended stays. ~Additional bedroom w/ queen size bed available for added cost. Please inquire ~A super rad family lives on the second floor, at times you may hear faint conversations or footsteps ~Quiet hours begin at 10pm ~Please inform hosts right away if something breaks or is damaged. If damages occur during stay the renter is responsible for total amount of damages or replacement of damaged items ~No smoking on property (especially important during summer months aka wildfire season). ~No shoes in the HCHA ~Please load all dirty dishes in dishwasher before check out but no need to run it ~ Please put dirty towels in hamper before check out
