Gorgeous 2Bd + Loft with Deck and Gardens. Soaring 20 ft ceilings, huge windows!
This spacious cottage was originally a music studio for one of the owners, a musician. Now in its next life as a guest cottage, you can still feel the happy vibe of the space. The cottage has been recently renovated and is fresh, upscale, and very Marin. The light-filled great room has soaring 20' ft. ceilings and walls of windows looking out onto woodlands. Incredible location in sunny central Marin, on our quiet, safe and private 2-acre gated family property. Convenient to both S.F. and Napa. The space The Musician's Cottage is nestled in our historic family property with the Victorian main house where we live and another cottage. The grounds are landscaped beautifully with wild woodlands behind. Hummingbirds and butterflies flit about, deer are frequent visitors, we'll even get the occasional fox. As you enter the cottage you feel the freshness of a full, high-quality renovation. The style is very local, kind of an elevated boho Marin, created by a well-known Bay Area designer. There is a modern kitchen, a lovely dining area fronted by double french doors, an incredible great room with high ceilings and loft. You feel like you are in a stylish treehouse. The bedroom wing includes a large, luxurious bathroom, a quiet master bedroom with woodland views and a twin bedroom. All furnishings, fixtures and finishes are of the highest quality. And a huge plus: Guests have access to so much outdoor space! A private back deck, a small front patio, and a large common front lawn. Lots of room to spread out, breathe deep, enjoy! The location of the cottage, in Central Marin, is quite incredible. Marin County is famous for its acres of beautiful National Parks and open space available for all sorts of outdoor fun: hiking, biking (both road and mountain), kayaking, sailing, surfing, you name it. Central Marin in particular is very special: halfway between S.F. and wine country (an easy 30-40 to each), and out of the fog belt that often engulfs Mill Valley, Sausalito and S.F. The weather could not be more perfect, mild almost all year round! Marin is filled with good restaurants, shops, farmers markets, live music, walkable charming small towns and all the rest - not your average suburbs. The entire area is very safe. Marin is also rich in fun history, as the home of the Grateful Dead and much other counterculture life in the 60’s and 70’s. We are a family of artists - I (Jenny) am a painter and Sandy (my husband) is a musician. All three of our kids are musicians as well and my daughter painted the dragon mural on the side of the cottage. Come join us in this peaceful and creative family compound! Guest access The cottage, its' deck, its' entry patio, its' assigned parking area (two spaces), the path between, the common lawn.
