The space Situated in the pretty village of Laverton, this quaint 4-bedroom stone cottage with its whimsical décor and flower-filled garden has all the hallmarks of an English countryside retreat. With its spacious kitchen, living room, sun room and two stunning gardens, there is plenty of room for a family or group of friends to relax and reconnect, while embracing the Cotswold lifestyle. Enjoy scenic country walks, take afternoon tea in the garden or visit the local pub in the next village for dinner. The charming country kitchen is a great spot to gather for a traditional English breakfast before a day of exploring, while the sun room is a peaceful spot to unwind with a book in the afternoon with a view of the garden beyond. Cooler evenings can be spent together in the living room around the fire. Each of the bedrooms is quintessentially charming, with rose pattered linens and traditional furniture. The master bedroom’s antique four-poster bed is a standout feature, as are the sweeping rural views from the second floor. With a rose and hydrangea draped front garden and a spacious lawn garden to the rear ideal for children to run and play, summer days here are spent mostly outside. Ground Floor Kitchen/Diner: This bright, country kitchen is well-equipped with everything you could possibly need to create wonderful meals including a range-style stove with a gas hob and electric oven, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle and dishwasher. Near the kitchen is a handy cloakroom/utility area with washing machine/dryer, additional freezer and WC. The garden overlooks the beautiful front garden and has a dining table seating six to gather for breakfasts or dinner. Sun Room: This lovely room has two comfy sofas overlooking the pretty back garden. Enjoy restful afternoons with a book taking in the rural views and listening to the birds singing outside. Living Room: Sit around the fire on cooler evenings on the sumptuous sofas watching a movie or your favourite series on the Smart TV. First Floor Bedroom One: Boasting an antique four-poster bed and overlooking the pretty front garden, this enchanting room is the epitome of traditional country charm. The room also contains a large antique wardrobe, dressing table and TV. Bedroom Two: This delightful single bedroom has lovely views over the back garden and beyond to Bredon Hill. The room is furnished with a full-size single bed, a dressing table and a rocking chair. There's also a built-in cupboard with hanging space and TV. Bedroom Three: The second of the single bedrooms looks out over the front garden and is equally charming. This spacious room has a double wardrobe and dressing table. Family Bathroom: The main family bathroom has a bath with a shower over, basin and a WC. Second Floor Bedroom Four: Encompassing the whole of the second floor this spacious bedroom features a double brass bed, built-in wardrobes and a panoramic window that showcases the incredible rural views. From here you can watch magical sunsets over Bredon Hill. En suite: The impressive en suite bathroom features a standalone bathtub with a handheld shower, WC and basin. Outside Swallows Rest is blessed with two beautiful gardens. In spring and summer the front cottage garden boasts beautiful roses, hydrangeas and other flowers. The back garden is enclosed with a lawn area ideal for children to run and play and has a dining terrace with table and six chairs perfect for al fresco meals and family barbecues on a warm summer's evening. Enjoy rural views of green fields and grazing sheep. A gate leads to a parking area behind the cottage. From the doorstep you can stroll around the village or set off for long rambling walks in the surrounding countryside. Guest access Guests have full access to the house and garden. There is however a door that can be closed at the bottom of the stairs. The shower is over the bath so guests must be able to step into the bath Swallows Rest is situated in the middle of a very quiet residential area, in consideration of our neighbours we respectfully request that noise levels are kept to a minimum after 10 pm, especially outside on warmer evenings. We appreciate that fireworks might be fun to have for a celebration, but they present too high a risk in our area with some very old houses neighbouring our property. Therefore, please do not use fireworks in any area, inside or outside whilst at Swallows Rest. We hope you understand our concern.
