Description

Rustic and Artistic Log cabin in the Green Mountains of Vermont. The space In this current time of concern over the Covid-19 coronavirus, I would like to assure all my up coming and future guests that every effort is taken to thoroughly clean and disinfect the entire cabin between guests. When possible I block off a couple days between each set of guests to further mitigate any spreading of germs. Also understand that the cabin is private and located away from other people in a township with a small population. Due to a recent question, I would like to make it clear at the start (even though this information is elsewhere in the listing), that the cabin can comfortably sleep 11 if the configuration of single and double beds is fully utilized, and a few more could be squeezed in if the couches and roll away cot are used, BUT my prices are based upon a 4 guest maximum with an additional charge of $35 per person per night over the 4. Now on with the listing: They say, Vermont is where you find it. This Vermont Log cabin is a good place to start. Step into the generous 1700 sq ft log cabin and you are entering a work of art. Natural tree elements are incorporated throughout the building. Stone and rock ledge are woven into a most unique fireplace and bathroom. Light is the theme in this house with windows and views of all types. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with closets, one with a private bathroom and if you are feeling like Juliet, you can call down to Romeo from the small balcony twenty feet above the large slate patio (perfect for a cook out). The second bedroom could accomodate another couple or enough beds to sleep 4 kids. Stairs, balcony, loft, porches and patio are artistically designed and not young child safe. There are four seasons of fun available, whether you want to downhill ski (large or small, Stratton, Killington, West Mt., Willard Mt. all within an hour), crosscountry ski or hike (Merck Forest), bike, horseback ride or snowmobile on the Delaware-Hudson rail trail that is right at the bottom of the driveway or fish the famous Battenkill and Mettowee rivers, enjoy the numerous farmers' markets around (one right in town on friday evening), or shopping and dining in Historic Manchester, perhaps an excursion to Saratoga Springs (less than an hour away) for racetrack and casino, or from the porch simply enjoy the mountains as the setting sun turns them to purple, then go inside for a romantic fire in the fireplace. ALSO AVAILABLE: Treehouse compound that can sleep as many as 11 in the warmer summer months (5 in the cooler months on either end). One two story treehouse, one three story treehouse, a cooking/eating pavilion, outside shower and firepit. Very cool! Type in "The Hermit Trush TREEHOUSE, West Pawlet, VT" to see it on this site. Your Host is Rik Sassa, an artist, stone mason and wood worker who believes that beauty, functionality , nature and economy work the best when working together. Also, pets are part of the family, so bring them along to the cabin! (not the treehouse...sorry) Other things to note My rates are based upon a 4 guest maximum, though the house can accommodate 11 comfortably (and a few more if you use the three couches and fold up cot....but it will be somewhat cramped). I have an additional per person per night charge for guests over the 4 maximum (it is all noted on the price quote). Well behaved pets are always welcome. There is a $25 per pet per stay fee.
