West Manor - Historic Gem with Modern Amenities
West Manor is a piece of Kelleys Island history with all the modern amenities you will need to enjoy your stay. This spacious 3 bedroom 3 full bathroom 1860s house is awaiting your stay. The downstairs features a brand new kitchen and two separate living areas. There is also a large covered porch and a big yard with a fire pit. We are located in the heart of Kelleys Island on Division Street, half a mile from downtown and .8 mile from the public sand beach. West Manor is a beautiful historic home built with native stacked limestone circa 1860. This house is located in the heart of Kelleys Island Ohio with easy access to trails, downtown, and a freshwater beach. The house was built circa 1860 by Paul and Franceca Kromer, who purchased the land from George Kelley. In 1867, the house was purchased by Uri Ward, a district representative to the Ohio legislature. After his term in legislature, Uri returned to Kelleys island to farm and cultivate his vineyards. Circa 1940, Lester and Henrietta Beatty acquired the house and ran a tea room out of the parlor. In 1980, Gerald West bought the house and spared no expense to restore the house to its original era. In the summer of 2020, our family bought the home with the goal of bringing this historical gem back to life. We added many modern conveniences and created a warm home to share. Our island is home to award-winning eateries, fun seasonal events and activities, beautiful natural areas, and more. Dine at an outdoor patio and sample some of Lake Erie’s finest perch and walleye. Visit our island winery to savor a sample or tasty meal. Enjoy a friendly round of mini-golf, grab an ice cream cone, or admire the architecture of the homes which have landed the entire island on the National Register of Historic Places. No matter how you like to vacation, you can do it on Kelleys Island! Kelleys Island is located 3.5 miles off the point of Marblehead Ohio. You will need to take a ferry to the island. Once you are on KI you will have your choice to drive a car, golfcart, bike, or walk around the island.
