What's nearby: This five-bedroom main home and two-bedroom guest apartment are located two miles east of Sunday River Resort. You'll find excellent cross-country and downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing ice skating, and tubing. The historic Sunday River Bridge - or Artist's Bridge - awaits just two miles away down Sunday River Road. Things to know: Two full kitchens (in the main house and the guest apartment) Two washer/dryers Weather permitting, the pool is open seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day. No fireworks at any time Quiet hours begin at 10:00 pm Guest access The main house entryway has an electronic Schlage lock. Press the Schlage button and the keypad will light up - enter your access code, and you'll hear the door unlock as the button blinks to confirm. To lock, simply press the Schlage button again. If you're staying in the apartment above the garage, press the 'home' button (bottom left on the keypad) and then enter your access code to unlock. If the electronic locks don't work, you can enter through the garage using the keypad there, then access the home with the backup keys from the lockbox. Standard check-in is at 4pm and checkout is at 10am. If early check-in or late checkout is available for your dates, you'll receive an email or SMS offer - otherwise, please plan accordingly, as the team will be preparing the home between 10am and 4pm. This home requires documentation from the state or local authority before your check-in. Look for an email from HelloSign with the required paperwork to complete. Other things to note The home includes central air conditioning on the main and second floors, controlled by thermostats in the entryway near the kitchen, the dining room, and the apartment. The basement stays naturally cool throughout the summer. Heat is controlled by thermostats in most rooms and all bedrooms. There are gas fireplaces in the living area and dining room - controls are on the wall next to each fireplace. A fire pit is available for seasonal use from May through October, weather permitting (wood is not provided). During the summer season (Memorial Day through Labor Day), you'll have access to outdoor patio furniture, a gas grill, fire pit, and a pool. Bed linens, bedding, and towel sets are provided, with backup sets located in the home. Basic start-up supplies are included: toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, trash bags, dishwasher pods, sponge, dish soap, laundry soap, and hand soap. Additional supplies are your responsibility. Welcome to Maine - the region's natural beauty comes with seasonal insects including mosquitos, black flies, ticks, sand fleas, spiders, ants, no-see-ums, beach flies, deer flies, and houseflies. The homeowner arranges monthly pest control to minimize their presence, though it cannot eliminate them entirely. We recommend bringing bug spray for outdoor activities - these pests are a natural part of the Maine environment.
