Townhouse in San Francisco

Our wonderful Victorian home in a beautiful Hayes Valley, a centrally located neighborhood filled with great restaurants, shops, parks, etc. Public transit access to entire city. Internet and amenities. Currently, the minimum stay is 30 days. The nightly rate shown is greatly discounted for monthly stays The space The space, furnished, is currently only open for minimum of 30 days during most periods of the year, though sometimes we will lower the minimum, during some summer months. Longer stays receive a substantial discount off nightly prices . COVID-19: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we have instituted some changes. *Rooms will be thoroughly sanitized between bookings (always cleaned of course, but now using >70% alcohol, etc.) *There will now be one full day between reservations to allow for time between sanitizing the space and the next booking. *Sanitizing wipes and cleaners will be available to all guests. Bright spacious beautiful home in a centrally located neighborhood with great restaurants, shops, walking, parks, etc. Public transit lines to the entire city. This is our home we have lived in for over 16 years. Currently we living out-of-state temporarily. So as you understand and expectations are set, it is not set up specifically for Airbnb. Some furnishings are not 'pristine,' and some are >100yr old antiques. That said, we endeavor to take great care of our cherished home, we use professional cleaners, there are the full amenities a lived-in home would have and it houses enough people (4-7) that the same in a hotel or dedicated rental would be 2-4x the cost in this expensive city. Also, our trusted long-term friend and handyman can check our guests in and make sure everything is ready for you if needed. The three bedrooms are fully appointed. One bedroom has a loft with a queen size bed and a full size below. The 3rd has a queen size. The living room has a queen-size sofa bed if needed. We can remove some of the bedroom furniture in the 'loft' and third bdrms for longer stays. There is only 1 private bathroom (see above). Additionally, we have a one car garage space and an office off the garage we can rent separately and also we have 2-3 rooms in the garden level basement with a separate entrance you may rent if you have more than 6-7 people or need more space. One is a studio with a kitchenette, the other two are small rooms off the courtyard. We rent the garden level rooms separately otherwise, those guests have a separate entrance and the doors between upstairs and downstairs will be locked from both sides. Check my profile for those This Victorian was built in 1889 by a carpenter, for himself and 3 grown children. He got rich from building for gold miners. Since then it has been home for immigrants, a bordello during WWII, a Buddhist commune during the 60's-70's, and various other very SF configurations. Guest has access to upstairs space of home (not garden basement unless discussed beforehand). Laundry room in garage is also for guest use. We are a family of two parents, two school-age children** (see below) and a small dog. Check in is self check in. There is a keypad at the front door and instructions will be sent to allow yourself in. Some of the best neighborhoods in this city are Hayes Valley, the Mission, Castro and Lower Haight. Fortunately, our house is located at the meeting point of all four, so you have access to some of the best food — both quick eats and sit down spots — cafes, parks, bars, shopping and artwork. We are happy to forward you recommendations on places to go for social time, personal time, and community events. Easy to get just about anywhere in the city. 3 bus lines across the street (6, 7 & 71), the F line streetcar 2 blocks away and the Muni line is within 5 minutes walking distance and between them they will all take you downtown to Super Bowl City in 15 minutes, Chinatown, the beach, Golden Gate Park, or just about anywhere. The neighborhood itself is central to many neighborhoods including the Hayes Valley, Lower Haight, Mission, SoMa, the Castro. Guest access Guest has access to home upstairs which includes 1 private bathroom, the entire upstairs space (kitchen, living/dining rooms, etc) and deck. Also access to laundry room in garage. Garage auto space is available if needed for an extra cost. Other things to note This space is our home and we only rent it on occasion. We do have a dog. He will not be in the home when you are a guest. Some notes: +We have a regular airbnb room downstairs. Those guests have their own kitchenette, bathroom and entrance through the courtyard. You will not see them and rarely if ever hear them, but just so you know they are there. +The upstairs (your space) has only one bathroom. +Please be aware that this home is in an urban center. As such it has both pros and cons. Pros are that public transportation to anywhere in the city and most attractions are abundant, there are many restaurants and shops within 5-10 minute walk, beautiful parks and architecture is all around you. The cons? There is street noise, people, cars and buses. Street parking is possible. If you want a quiet, secluded space with plenty of parking, we suggest the Western part of the city, but then you'll be far from most of the things most people come to San Francisco for.
