Rusticator Yurts provides a home base for exploring the natural beauty of Acadia, located 3 miles to MDI, the space is ideal for travelers seeking the comforts of a bedroom yet the feel of camping. After a day full of outdoor activities, enjoy a hot water shower & kick back with your favorite beverage while stargazing by the fire pit. Vacationland awaits you! The space On nearly 6 acres of open field & woods, there are Adirondack chairs surrounding your fire pit. There is a two person per yurt limit, if you’re traveling with two additional people, check out the availability of our other yurt on the property, The Osprey. Puffin Yurt * Built on a wood platform, 14 ft. in diameter, 150 sq. ft., with a large central skylight. If you're sensitive to early morning light, we recommend bringing an eye mask. * Inside, the bed is a top quality 10-inch memory foam mattress with comfortable bedding & comforter. * For extra comfort, a space heater is provided during the early spring & fall when the temperatures may drop & two fans for summer months, yurt window does roll up for additional air flow. * Mini Fridge – drinking glasses & wine opener provided. * Showering Towels * Electricity & Wi-Fi Puffin & Osprey Shared Bathhouse * Made of all natural wood, there is a cross breeze throughout to prevent molding & for the propane heater. NOTE: In the early spring & fall the temperature may drop especially at night when showering. *Top-notch composting toilet * Private hot water shower & changing area. * Biodegradable liquid soap, shampoo & conditioner * Hair dryer * Vanity * Hand towels * Trash can * Bathhouse is cleaned each day PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: Our property is not remote, the yurts are tucked amongst trees & bushes behind the main house, conveniently located on busy Route 3/Bar Harbor Road; traffic noise will be heard but quiets down considerably at night. A white noise machine is provided. Location is easily accessible by car to Ellsworth, Acadia, Bar Harbor & other MDI (Mount Desert Island) coastal towns. You're welcome to bring food that does not require cooking with pots/utensils, no camping stoves, our bathhouse sink is unable to process food products. Cooking with skewers (provided by hosts) for Hot Dogs, S'mores etc at the fire pit is okay! In general, we like to support the local economy & can recommend all kinds of food options. All our grounds, including the yurts, are no smoking, no drug usage & no pets allowed. Other things to note We are knowledgeable of the area & enjoy helping in planning your trip, each yurt is provided with maps, hiking information & activity suggestions. Acadia Park Entrance Passes can be purchased at the fee station along Park Loop Road at Schooner Head Road - Near Sand Beach (Open Year Round), Hulls Cove Visitor Center or Acadia Gateway Center. Also, can be purchased online at Recreation Gov to be printed before your arrival, Cadillac Summit Road - Daytime or Sunrise passes can be purchased there as well. Maine gets buggy in the summer months, especially with black flies & ticks, we provide a lemon eucalyptus bug spray in the bathhouse. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!
