The Great Lodge on Georgian Bay

The Great Lodge, one of Canada's largest log buildings, provides a spectacular venue in a Private Resort for memorable month-long stays that may include weddings, corporate retreats or family reunions. Situated on 5 acres, our amenities include sunsets to die for, private beaches, boating facilities, cabana, charcoal spit, chef’s kitchen, 20-seat pub, gym, theatre, garden patio, a hot tub, a cedar woodland, streams, gardens and a permanent pier extending 100-feet into Georgian Bay. The space The Great Lodge is a lavish private resort, built by an internet magnate during the heady internet boom, You'll have panoramic views of beautiful Georgian Bay and be bathed in burned orange during the daily golden hours at sunset. Surrounded by gardens, natural streams and woodlands, the Great Lodge is a luxury log mansion complete with spectacular wood carvings, high ceilings and windows, a mezzanine balcony, 30-foot-high fireplace, whirlpool bathtubs, and private beaches with canoes, kayaks and paddle boards. Guest access Guests have full access to the Great Lodge and the five-acre grounds. A party that books accommodation at the Great Lodge will be the only renters present. A Guest Lodge nearby is not included in the rental. It is available to Great Lodge groundskeepers as necessary to maintain the grounds during your month-long stay. The groundskeepers can also be of assistance to you if required to clean the hot tub, replenish the wood supply or deal with emergencies. There is no extra charge for prudent use of wood fuel or power. Excessive use will attract a fee. Other things to note The Great Lodge is available for day trips for family gatherings during which your party can use our facilities to boat, swim, BBQ, roast marshmallows at our fire pit, marvel at our spectacular sunsets and Milky Way nights. The Great Lodge's common indoor facilities (games room, pub, theatre, gym) are also available. Bedrooms are not available to day guests. Due to local bylaws, no overnight stays are permitted. As well, outdoor music or any excessive noise is not permitted at any time of day. The Little Lodge nearby is not included to day guests. It will be used by our staff to assist as needed and to ensure that all bylaws are respected. The fee for day use is $2,000. In addition, a $1,000 refundable security deposit is required in the event of any damage to property.
