Our home was built around 1910 and still has many stunning original details. We recently renovated it with brand new furnishings and appliances. We are also located just two blocks from a large grocery store and subway station, which will take you directly into Manhattan. There are charming restaurants and coffee shops within a few blocks, as well as beautiful Prospect Park and historic Greenwood Cemetery. Perfect home for people looking to tour NYC or visit relatives in style and luxury. Our home captures that historic Brooklyn charm (high pressed-tin ceilings, original hardwood floors, stained glass and beautiful mosaic tiling) mixed in with all the modern amenities one would come to expect. In addition to the 5 bedrooms, modern kitchen and dining room, the home features a very spacious living room, upstairs TV room with 60" HDTV, playroom with toys, books and games, two full bathrooms with a jacuzzi tub, large backyard garden with outdoor lounge furniture, and a deck with outdoor grill. We are also located directly adjacent to a city playground with basketball courts, jungle gyms, and summertime water features. There is also a brand new CitiBike station directly out front, so you can bike anywhere in the city directly from our doorstep. If you have a sizable family and want to all stay together in a very comfortable and stylish location, this is the home for you. We also get a lot of interest from families who are in town for weddings at either Prospect Park or The Brooklyn Botanical gardens, as the home is close to both locations and features a very large dressing room with full length mirror and custom built, floor to ceiling Spanish cedar closets -- an ideal setting for a bridal party to get ready. Guests will have complete access to the entire home, with the exception of the basement. If you are staying in our home, we obviously won't be. So you'll have to show yourselves in. However we are always available via the Air B&B app to answer any questions you might have about the home, the neighborhood, or NYC in general. Don't hesitate to reach out! Our neighborhood is truly outstanding. Very safe and family orientated, we are nestled between Prospect Park and the historic Greenwood Cemetery, both of which are worth a visit. A city park is located directly next to the apartment and a full size grocery store is only two blocks away. Ft. Hamilton Parkway, which is one block to the north of us, has a number of great restaurants and coffee shops. We have also complied a short list of all our favorite neighborhood spots, which we have included on the backside of our welcome note inside the apartment and on our Air B&B guidebook. We are located just two blocks from the Church Avenue F and G train subway station. The F line will take you directly into lower Manhattan in about 20-30 minutes without having to transfer. You can also take that same train the opposite direction and be in historic Coney Island in about the same amount of time. The G train will take you through some great Brooklyn neighborhoods, including Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, and Williamsburg. There is also a B16 bus stop just up the street which will take you to Prospect Park, The Botanical Gardens, The Brooklyn Museum, and Prospect Park Zoo, to name just a few choice places. There is also free street parking in our area which is fairly abundant. There is also a brand new Citibike station directly next door to the house, so you can easily bike anywhere! If you are staying with us in the spring or summer, we have a large outdoor garden with tons of raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, grapes, and more. You are free to pick and eat anything you like! We have tenants downstairs and also an older neighbor directly next door who does not tolerate noise, parties, etc. So if you are planning on hosting a loud event, our place is not for you. One or more of our neighbors will call the police if they hear any partying, fair warning. For longer stays (one week or more): The trash goes out on the curb every Sunday and Wednesday evening (they pick it up very early in the morning). The recycling gets put out just once a week on Wednesday evenings. There’s a can for cardboard/paper and one for all glass, cans, plastic bottles, etc. They are labeled on the side of the can. We also have a bunch of plants inside. If you wouldn’t mind giving them a water at some point about midway through your stay, we would greatly appreciate it. The cactuses and hanging plants in the bathroom don’t need watering. If you also wouldn’t mind bringing in any mail and packages, we’d appreciate it. You can just leave it in the front vestibule or stick it in the laundry room. If you have any questions about where to find anything or how to use any of the appliances, please don’t hesitate to ask. Enjoy your stay!
