We have spent a lot of labor and love renovating this cute Matlacha cottage to a modern standard but wanted to maintain the 'character' of Matlacha. For anyone needing a 2nd bedroom for all or part of their stay in our 'Sunrise' apartment, we have a separate studio apartment with kitchenette and bathroom located at the front of the property available for weekly rental (see separate Seasprite listing on Airbnb). We have citrus trees and banana palms and guests are welcome to help themselves when in season. There is a 4000lb boat lift on the shared dock area available for weekly rental at $50 per week; pls contact me for availability. We love animals and we allow one small, well-behaved pet (upto 20lbs) with prior approval. This is a duplex property and each apartment has it's own separate access and has it's own patio. The dock area and access to kayaks is shared. There is one off-street parking space per unit on the shelled area at the front of the property. There is a shared laundry room at the front of the property with washer and dryer and iron. I live locally and can meet and greet my guests(or they can self check-in) and will be available by phone and in-person throughout your stay The charm of Matlacha is what brought me to live here in 2015. I love nature and thrill at seeing the herons, egrets and woodstorks who visit daily. We are surrounded by preserves and boating and kayaking is wonderful, we always see dolphins or manatees or stingrays. Unique and interesting shops, restaurants and bars are within walking distance. Sadly, Berts bar has not reopened since hurricane Ian. Easy to walk or cycle as everything in Matlacha is a stone's throw away. This is a non-smoking property. For the enjoyment of all current and future guests, we cater to non-smokers as smoking is not allowed inside or outside within the property line. We have installed a UV-C sanitizing system on the central air-conditioning which kills airborne viruses and bacteria and for our guests' peace of mind, we have invested in UV-C light disinfecting units that kill airborne viruses and sterilize surfaces. Matlacha was hit by hurricane Ian in September 2022. Our property has been repaired and is rental-ready. Some items of furniture were replaced so will differ from photos. Some restaurants and stores have not re-opened, but several are open to welcome you to our island.
