Experience ISLAND life on Sand Lake, right in the heart of the Historic Rideau Waterway (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). This serene cottage is located on a large shared island, surrounded by 3 acres of mature trees and tons of privacy. MOTORIZED BOAT ACCESS ONLY. Miles of shoreline to explore, enjoy crystal clear water for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and excellent fishing! Spectacular lake views from every room and 850 feet of waterfront to enjoy! The space Cottage has 3 bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of 8 guests, with 1.5 bathrooms. Includes a spacious living and dining room with vaulted ceiling and plenty of natural light. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a: stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, Keurig coffee and drip coffee maker, blender, food processor, crockpot, immersion blender, bowls, casserole dishes, pots and pans, containers, cooking utensils, as well as cutlery, glassware and dishes (kid-friendly dishware is also available). Complimentary pantry items like spices, oil, sugar, coffee and tea are available to guests. There is also a water dispenser - we provide two complementary 15 litre water bottles for your stay. The cottage is cooled by a portable air-conditioning unit, ceiling and floor fans, and is heated by electric wall heaters. Includes Wifi, a Smart TV, DVD player, stereo system, extra fold-up chairs, TV table trays. A high chair and baby gate (top of stairs) are provided. There is also a small selection of DVDs, board games and books. Outside, the cottage is equipped with a BBQ with propane, plenty of outdoor seating and dining space on the deck, docks, or under the heritage covered picnic shelter. Guests have access to three kayaks and one canoe. There is also a laundry line off of the deck. BOATS: The main dock is 16 feet long and will accommodate one standard sized boat. A second smaller dock can be used for small watercraft. Please contact us with your boat size to make sure mooring won’t be an issue. Water is approximately 4 feet deep directly off the dock and gets deeper quickly.
